SORRY but we do NOT do CALL-IN reservations. Guests are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. One visit and you’ll see why people call Nikola’s their spot. Nikola’s on Telegraph has been serving generations of customers with their huge portions of ribs, chicken and seafood. Nikola’s is family-owned and family-run and was started in 1989. Completely remodeled in 2005, there is a full bar with an amazing lineup of unique cocktails and specialty ice cream drinks. There is a dedicated Carryout entrance in the back to serve those on-the-go. Whether it’s a romantic night out, a business meeting, repast, dinner get-together or 300 pieces of Broasted Chicken for a family reunion, they have you covered.

As a long time customer, disappointed can’t even begin to describe how I feel about Nikola’s. The audacity to allow day old, dried out, reheated food to go out to customers is asinine. Then when the customer brings it to your attention, the solution is to have the customer bring it back in order to get a new one or a refund (anytime). How about not serve inadequate food in the first place. That’s a thought.
You can look at the these pictures and see the completely dried out, darkened potato skins. And the several layers of cheese just fell off.
Its awful….needless to say and unfortunately, I won’t be returning to Nikola’s anytime soon if this is how they treat their customers.

Our server Michelle was so kind and welcoming. I got the BBQ ribs, chicken, and shrimp ($20.00). My friend got the BBQ half chicken ($16.00). The Mac n cheese was so good! He also liked the potato salad and coleslaw. They give a huge piece of Texas toast and it’s perfect. I really loved the ribs best. I’d definitely be back and recommend it. It’s great food and very reasonably priced!! Definitely have leftovers for tomorrow!

So today we came to Nikola’s for dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The food was delicious and our waitress Anna was great!! The greeter at the door Yolanda Haynes, said they will seat us as soon as all 5 of us were there. 4 of us were already there, so Yolanda Haynes takes us back, to the lobby to wait when she notices it was just us 4. She says: you have to wait until everyone is here to be seated. Half us us were there, our other friend was running late. I called her and she told me to go ahead and let them seat us, cause she didn’t know how long she was going to be before she got there. The waitress Anna ( who again was great), said that’s ok, they can go ahead and sit, Yolanda says no, they can’t be seated until all 5 of them are here, because this is our rush time. Rush time??? First of all, there were 5 vacant tables where we were going to be seated, and there was already a big party in the back of 20+ people, and no one else was in the lobby but us when we came back out to wait. Then, after we were seated, our friend was opening her gifts that we put in 2 chairs that no one was sitting in by the wall where we were at… Yolanda proceeds to come and start trying to move her gifts, cause she said she needed to move those chairs, so she can sit the “white people.”Our friend said, she will move the gifts and the chairs so she wouldn’t have too. Our friend said she doesn’t like people handling her things, so if she moves around, she will move the gifts and the chairs. Yolanda says, my hands are clean. Ok, so if your hands are clean, then why were you were wearing gloves, touching the menu’s and who knows what else. Then she proceeded to stand in the isle way watching us the whole time. On our way out to leave, she didn’t say anything like, “have a good night, thank you for coming,” nothing!! Yolanda’s attitude was very rude and disrespectful to her own people, and she was so polite to the “white people.” I didn’t know if she was having a bad day or what, but if she was, then she should have stayed at home. She works in customer service, and she needs to learn to be respectful to everyone. 4 of us there live in the City of Southfield, and she’s supposed to be on our City Council?? We will certainly spread the word on who not to vote for!! May God bless her, cause God is who she definitely needs to fix her attitude to be a better person and to do better! Y’all need a new greeter if she keeps that nasty attitude!

The drinks were amazing — not just good, but the kind you immediately want to order a second of. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and actually strong enough to matter. And the food portions? Huge. Nobody at our table left hungry, that’s for sure. Every plate that came out looked generous and well put together. It’s always such a win when you feel like you’re getting real value for what you’re paying. The vibe made it easy to relax and hang out for a while, which is exactly what you want when you’re out with a group. Great drinks, big portions, good energy — we’ll definitely be back with the crew again.

Came in for BBQ but when I saw catfish on the menu, I shifted gears immediately. With collard greens & coleslaw & a massive pice of garlic toast.
The vibe is family style restaurant and the decor doesn’t – thankfully – follow the trend of bare wood, metal & country music. In fact, the tunes, pleasantly in the background, we’re 60s & 70s pop and R & B.
Service was quick & professional.
Food was solid and in plentiful portions. Huge catfish filet with cornmeal breading was crispy outside, tender inside. Collard greens were a big portion and flavorful. Be careful, I found a bone. Slaw was tasty. Nothing stood out, but I wouldn’t say no to a return trip.

Top notch from beginning to end, everything about this place is exceptional!!! Only issue is they still charge extra for a tossed salad,which was understood during covid, but shouldn’t still be there now. Otherwise an excellent dining experience.

Ana, I believe, was our server. She and the staff was very accommodating especially when more people than initially cited came. The orders were taken efficiently. Bills divided well. Food is always great. Great portions especially for the price. I ordered a top shelf L.I. and it was great. Had me feeling great the rest of the day

There was four of us today. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. The pasta salad, garlic bread and shrimps were excellent! The ribs were literally could not get off the bone! Since the four of us rarely get the chance to get together we enjoyed each other’s company… but if ribs are going to be what you’re looking forward to, don’t. I also don’t go to Famous Dave’s because of the hard ribs.. but I truly had high expectations and hopes for Nikola’s. I would still absolutely recommend them, if you don’t want ribs. Try anything else! They are excellent… expensive, and excellent. Now would i take the drive all the way back there? Probably not. I wanted for my sister to have a top of the line meal and that just did not happen. Neither of us enjoyed them. Huge bummer…
