Majestic Culinary Journey at Nikolai’s Roof – A Taste of Imperial Russia

Dining at Nikolai’s Roof was not just a meal—it was a journey through history, elegance, and extraordinary flavor. From the very first step inside, you feel transported into a royal evening at the palace of Tsar Nicholas II. The ambiance whispers luxury, and the service is nothing short of imperial—gracious, attentive, and deeply refined.

The cuisine is classic French with a subtle, poetic Russian soul. Think buttery sauces paired with Eastern European undertones—delicate, masterfully balanced, and absolutely unforgettable. Every dish is plated like a work of art, and every bite evokes tradition with a modern twist.

And the view… Oh, the view. From the rooftop, the city stretches out like a velvet stage beneath the stars—romantic, quiet, and timeless. It ties the entire experience together like the final chapter of a great Russian novel.

If you want to experience real Russia wrapped in elegance and flavor, Nikolai’s Roof delivers like few others. It’s not just dinner—it’s a luxurious escape into the grandeur of another era.

Highly recommended.

This was truly one of the most memorable fine dining experiences we’ve had. Every dish was a feast for both the eyes and the palate—beautifully plated, bursting with flavor, and clearly crafted with care. The attention to detail in the presentation made each course feel special, turning the meal into an experience rather than just dinner. The service matched the quality of the food perfectly—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. Our server anticipated our needs, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made the evening feel seamless from start to finish.

And the rooftop view? Absolutely breathtaking. Dining with that backdrop elevated the entire experience, creating a perfect blend of ambiance, flavor, and luxury. This is the kind of place you’ll remember long after the meal is over, and we can’t wait to return.

A unique dining experience that made for a lovely anniversary celebration spot. The dishes had complex flavor profiles and the expected formal presentations. Dishes were well-timed, coming out shortly after one another.
A few things brought it down from five stars simply because they were not up to par for the cost. A few of the courses were served room temperature/ cold, the city views and sunset could only be seen from two tables (which we were not seated at), and the long staircase to the bathroom was pretty challenging in heels. This might be just a personal thing but the music volume felt a little low to where raising your voice above a whisper felt like it would ruin the ambiance for others.

We came here for my birthday and it was a very pleasant experience. The waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the service was quick! We were here on a Saturday evening.

The Russian coffee was good but too strong for me but the alcohol they used was elite. Smooth and didn’t have me falling out my seat after the first sip. My husband had a sweet tea and no, refills are NOT free! We were not aware of this but we didn’t sweat it too much.

The crab cake was delish. It was an art piece and the waiter described every food element so well. We enjoyed tasting every flavor in the crab cake in each bite.

I got the duck breast and it was wonderful. Never had duck cooked this way and it was a delight. The sauce paired with the duck made it even better. The lentils I was not big on as I’m not a fan of beans in general. I would have replaced that side if it were possible.

My husband got the tenderloin with foie gras and it was very good!! My husband loved eating the onion and he absolutely hates onion. The green paste we were not sure what it was but it was also delicious.

This fancy grilled cheese was probably one of the best we’ve had at a fine dining experience. The cheese had beef tallow in it and on top was caviar and gold leaf with tomatoes. Talk about fancy!

They did bring out a complimentary dessert for my birthday and it was the perfect sweet touch to end our meal. It was coconut ice cream on a bed of coconut meringue perhaps. My husband said it was edible coconut styrofoam

The price is definitely high but that is to be expected of a fine dining experience. We overheard the table next to us sharing their enjoyment to their waiter so we knew it was worth our time coming here. The portions we thought were good for average people our size. We almost couldn’t finish all of our food! Based off other comments about the parking, they do offer validated parking now so it seems they do take customer feedback into consideration.

Overall we had a wonderful experience and I enjoyed my birthday dinner at Nikolai’s!

Came here with my 9 year old daughter and had a fabulous experience. Each course was over the top incredible from the presentation to the flavors and quality of the food itself. Phenomenal service, Vasil was a wonderful server and explained every meal and drink with detail and precision, and the manager Martelle was very engaging and accommodating as well. The views are absolutely spectacular, as if the experience wasn’t good enough the views are over the top exquisite. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more, and it’s extremely reasonably priced for what you’re getting!

This was my second time eating at this restaurant, and have to say it wasn’t worth the money.
Out of four course, 2 was horrible the soup that in the menu was sold as a vegetable soup taste of nothing but Curry and the tartar was so salty that you couldn’t eat, yes tartar have mustard but it should taste of nothing but..
Yes I told the waiter and he couldn’t do anything about.
The only reason I leave 2 stars is the carot cake dessert and the main course.
I don’t mind paying 300$ for a dinner but for that price I expect at great dinner and this wasn’t.

First off wanted to start off by saying Manuela was the absolute best! Very attentive, personable and knowledgeable. The food was immaculate! The highlights of the 4 course meals were Starters: Foie Gras, Entree: Lasagna (there is NO red sauce in this but it was one of the best I’ve tried), Cheese: Grilled Cheese (24k gold leafed tomato paste) and Dessert: Soufflé/Creme Brûlée. If I was ever back in the area it would be the first stop I’d check out!

P.S Took a look at the “bad” reviews and the people who wrote them seem to be very uncultured lol

A very good decision to dine here on a Wed night. The view from the rooftop of Hilton was spectacular which adds to a very pleasant and enjoyable night. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Our side plate was constantly refilled with the yummy warm brioche without being asked. Each course of our meal was delivered with details of ingredients and the dish by our server who was very knowledgeable of what he was serving, and was very warm and sincere with his “Bon Appetit” – apologies for not getting his name correct. We felt so well looked after. Merci.

The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Quality was top notch. There was attention to detail and no accompanying ingredient overwhelmed the main player on the dish. My strip loin was cooked to medium rare perfection and charred just right for that extra flavour. In fact, my husband’s duck main was declared as “the best medium rare cooked duck I’ve ever had”. Husband later made the same declaration over his souffle . Stephanie Frick certainly made our Atlanta stopover very memorable. Thank you.

We had a great time here. It was a little confusing at first because there was no one to greet us at the door, But once a server came around to have us seated it was smooth sailing. The server are attentive and the menu is truly an experience! This is a great anniversary dinner place just to try something different.

Professionally staffed. The food was delicious and the course menu was explained well prior to and at service at the table. The view was great but they need to clean the windows, which is no small task being on the 28th floor! The 3 course option was plenty and we shared the final course with each other to essentially get four courses anyway.
