Great place!
Those of us who have known this restaurant since it first opened are familiar with all these dishes from the very beginning. I ordered the Salmon Crunch, Sunomono salad , Salmon Sashimi , etc – same amazing flavor as always, even better! The atmosphere is super relaxed and beautifully designed, perfect for enjoying great food and good conversation. The service was very fast, and our waiter treated us wonderfully. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Brownsville!

Definitely liked the vibe ✨️ in the restaurant. The server was very attentive. The Mexico roll was delicious . The fried cheese balls were great but didn’t like the dip it came with. Will definitely come back.

There were only 3 waiters for the entire place. Considering most seating is for large parties that’s messed up for the owners to do that. Ordering, getting the food, anything really we asked for took a long time. Even something has simple has chopsticks. The food was so AVERAGE. From everything ordered my favorite were only the spicy edamame and the cucumber lemonade. Ah and the nuggets ordered for my niece lol

Went for lunch and was honestly pleasantly surprised.

The fried rice might sound simple and not like the highlight of the menu, but make sure to add one to your order, the meat one was great.

I’m a big fan of tuna tostadas wherever I go , and theirs is a 10/10. It comes on a wonton cracker that adds a really nice crisp, topped with tuna and a creamy, slightly spicy mayo-style sauce. No notes. Get it every time and share it.

We also shared a few rolls, all were good. I particularly liked the salmon crispy rice one ( only photo I took).

I recommend the tuna tostadas and fried rice for sure, plus at least one roll. Pro tip: ask for a free miso soup while you wait for your order.

It was a bad overall experience. The rock shrimp appetizer had great taste, but who wants to wait more than an hour to receive a cold appetizer! My mixed fried rice arrived late too. I wasn’t the only one receiving late food, everyone did, some people had to go back to work and their food never arrived. Dont go if your time is counted. I will not be returning. I can get faster service and better tasting food at another sushi place.

My husband and I went on a Friday night. Our wait was less than 15 min which was great. The food was delicious and the staff was attentive. I do recommend and I will go again.

Nikkori is the best! Alex Lopez, aka “Chef Alex” , is the General Manager and he gave us the best service. He checked on us the whole time and really made sure everyone in the restaurant felt taken care of. Our server Joey was also awesome and always had a smile and provided my wife and I great service. The owner Sergio was there too, and Head Chef Jesus made the food perfect.

My wife and I had the Edamame, Nikorri Dynamite, Marco Roll, and Vegetable Yakimeshi. Everything was delicious better than I remember from my childhood visits to Nikkori in Matamoros.

Best sushi we have ever had. Can’t wait to go back!

Our first time at Nikkori was AMAZING. This hits home since it was first opened in Matamoros and the memories of the food and ambience really bring back memories. The food was delicious and the space is beautiful. Go by and enjoy!

This place was great! The service was amazing and the food was awesome! I came here with a couple of my loved ones to try something new and we were not disappointed at all. A huge plus, the music was peak! Definitely an experience to have with friends and family if you’re looking for some japanese food in Brownsville. 10/10 would come again! Thank you, Roberto for your wonderful service and for the banana tempura!

I have been here at least 10 times in 2 months. The food is always hot, salad fresh and rice has chicken, beef and shrimp with onion.. The shrimp and onions were no where to be found. The Marco roll, was hard and cold like warmed up in microwave. The salad cucumber salad was delicious. I had to wait about 4 minutes to be acknowledged by a waitress passing by. When I got seated I waited again about 3-4 minutes. This has never happened and I had heard that service was bad, well yes today it was. I’m disappointed and probrably will not be back.
