Nikki’s Dog House is a premier and authentic Fast Food Restaurant that has been proudly serving the Putnam area and beyond since 1980. John and Sandra Johnson opened Nikki’s Dog House, featuring their famous Coney Island Hot Dogs on April 1, 1980. Nikki’s is named after their daughter, Nichola, who was 6 months old at the time the Dog House was born. John and Sandra ran this Putnam hot spot until 2010 when their son David took over. Since then, our mission has been to provide comfort food for the whole family in a fun and feel-good environment. The original Nikki will continue the legacy as of April 1, 2021. Nikki’s will continue to serve Northeastern CT in a new, fun, and updated environment beginning May 5, 2021!

Whenever I get a day off from The Sunshine Shop with the kids and I have to figure out what to do for lunch, Nikki’s is always a great option. Delicious food at good prices, a fun atmosphere for the kids. They love the train, and of course the hot dogs Thanks Nikki’s for being a great local business, we’ll keep coming back and telling others about you

Great place to get some steamed bun hit dogs. Been around forever, so you know they have to be doing something right. We stood around for a little while before we got someone to take our order, but once she came, she was super nice. Have really good hot dogs and a good selection to choose from. It is located in an easy in and out spot in Putnam with lots of other walkable places a bout. Good summer, place to grab some ice cream as well. Think I prefer Famous Frank’s a little more due to their butter grilled buns, but you can’t go wrong at Nikkis.

Stopped at nikkis for lunch and it did not disappoint. I got the cali dog with avocado, everything seasoning, scallions and hot sauce. My husband got two other hot dogs and they were all really good. I would definitely suggest this place for lunch.

A local staple with not only classic food done well but delightful and fun specials throughout the week keep you coming back. A large menu offers food for everyone, every the pickiest of eaters. Highly recommend the tacos and of course the coney dog. Grab food to go or stay and enjoy downtown Putnam.

Nikki’s is pretty great in a good location with an old school vibe. Love that they have vegan dogs. That’s what got me in there. My only complaint is the cilantro. It didn’t mention it on the menu for the item I chose, must have been a slaw ingredient. I hate cilantro.

Really fun, creative dog options. Even had vegetarian and vegan options available. Quick friendly service. Would totally stop back here if we were in the area again for a reasonably priced lunch.

Very simple menu that doesn’t try to do too much. Love places that keep it so simple and don’t try to go outside the simple. Very good food!

Great place for the family to eat. Hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and even some of the more old school menu items. There is a train for the kids to watch, and cartoons always running. Quiet little corner of Putnam, within walking distance of many of the shops.

Average dogs and tiny outdated place. Not worth the money for dogs much better restaurants within walking district. Old restaurant to afraid to come into the new world.
