Recently, we went for brunch, and both my boyfriend and I had the spicy braised beef cheek with cheese grits, pickled peppers, crispy onions, and basil pesto. My boyfriend literally said, “It’s probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.” The flavor combination in this dish was incredible—everything complemented each other perfectly. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! And can we talk about the presentation? Absolutely beautiful!
I highly recommend making reservations in advance since they’re pretty busy on weekends for brunch.
Can’t wait to visit again!
Fresh and delicious ingredients. Watching the chef make the house made pasta was the highlight on my night! Wonderful job.
The Monday night pasta is a must!! The cocktail menu is beautiful. Just an amazing experience and I will be back. Thank you, thank you.
Before I get roasted, the food wasn’t the highlight. I order Moules and Fries, mussels and fries, the national dish of Belgium.
The mussels came a bit undercooked for my taste. Although I didn’t specify my preference, I like them a bit more cooked for the texture. It was the fries that put me off.
The choice to cook crispy fries, which were over salted and soggy with oil, in the same bowl with the mussels was the problem for me. The fries sat in the broth making them wet and inedible.
This for certain isn’t the last time I’ll come here. I’ll go for something else.
My partner ordered the turnip noodles. Great dish but a bit “watered” down. The cheese sauce was more liquid than cheese.
We were expecting something akin to an alfredo style cheese sauce. It wasn’t that.
The restaurant feels kind of small inside and depending on how many are there it can feel cramped. Service and staff were prompt and friendly. Ordering takeout works very well here and food is done on time. Nighthawks is definitely worth a try.
As a note—the attached photos (save for the one with the cod and greens, which I had last night and it was amazing) aren’t just from recent menus. I’ve been here a bunch of times and wanted to highlight some of my favorite meals there! By the way, get the opera cake for dessert.
