Had a reservation for a mid week early dinner, even though I didn’t need it.

Immediately greeted by the host and bartender. They were interested in me, my company, if we had been here before, etc. Highly personalized service. Made me feel very welcome and immediately separated them from other places.

Cocktail menu is cheeky and creative, and the wine menu has variety and sophistication where necessary.

Menu was great – we focused on the sea food and the octopus and market fish absolutely slapped. The appetizer Brussels sprouts were great – not too much soy and not over cooked.

The desert menu was limited and they focused on cake but the chocolate was great. Probably could have held half the marshmallow but it was easy enough to leave it on the plate. It was delicious.

The host caters properly to the mix in the room and had a great playlist that kept me there long after dinner was over.

I highly recommend this place for happy hour, dinner, and well – a night cap.

Cozy green house bar with intimate 2 and 4 person tables. Impeccable vibes, somehow upscale without being suffocating or performative like many Austin “upscale casual” restaurants. I think even the chef came out to welcome us during happy hour along with our server and some other lady.

The bathrooms have cloth towels, floss picks, and mouthwash. Pretty awesome.

$28 for the charcuterie should be illegal (happy hour is $18, worth it, and the prosciutto is probably half the cost so what can u do), but the brussels and gnocchi were good, and the drink names are funny.

We had a reservation for 10. When we arrived (5 minutes early), they did not have a table prepared for us, even though the restaurant was not busy. We waited 10 minutes for them to ready the table. When they took us to our table, they had 10 place settings but only 8 seats. They had forgotten to put chairs at the ends of the table. The hostess said she would grab some chairs and be right back. Two of our family members stood awkwardly in the middle of the restaurant, waiting for chairs that never came. After a couple of minutes, my husband went and found chairs, then brought them to our table. The rest of the evening went much the same. Cocktail orders went in before food orders, but appetizers came out long before our drinks. We had literal shot glasses for our water. We had to ask for the check. Our waitress dropped it off and never came back. After 10 minutes we went up to the bar to pay. Honestly, it was some of the worst service we’ve had in a very long time. The restaurant lost money because we didn’t order a 2nd round of drinks or dessert due to the slow service.
The food, however, was delicious.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant this past Wednesday evening. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—Ellie, our server, was especially kind and attentive. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and even recommended the fried chicken special (available only on Wednesdays), which turned out to be absolutely delicious.

The drinks were also a highlight—crafted perfectly and full of flavor. We opted for the outdoor seating, which was cozy, charming, and added to the overall relaxing vibe of the evening.

Everything from the food to the ambiance and service was spot on. I’ll definitely be coming back, especially for that fried chicken!

I really enjoyed my time at Nightcap. I made a reservation and Christin reached out before my time asking if there was any celebrations for the evening. I explained that we were having a goodbye for one of my friends who is moving and we were greeted with champagne and smiles. The happy hour deals were great and everything I ate and drank was delicious. The staff was very kind. I will definitely be going again!!

Indoor and Outdoor seating was available as well as street parking and a small parking lot in the back of the building.

Super mixed emotions about my visit last night. Not being an Austin native, someone that lives here recommended this spot to us. Super cozy ambience in here must admit. The staff 10/10. The food is what I’m giving this spot a 3 stars instead of 5.

We started off with a Cheese & Charcuterie board. Nothing crazy about it. Great appetizer to start with. My main entree was a Roasted chicken that was on top if some sort of sauce & a red sauce. The white sauce reminded me like some sort of yogurt. Red sauce mixed with the white sauce balanced out and had a better taste as I dipped my chicken too. Chicken was good, crispy skin and seasoned well. Now, this plate had a bunch of radishes that just didn’t find it good also for the arugula. Menu claims to have roasted bell peppers and pecans. I didn’t see any of it, must’ve been blended into that red sauce I mentored earlier.

Second dish was a Night Cap burger. Pretty good burger must say. Super juicy, can’t really mess up a burger. Patties were just a tad bit salty which had me drinking water after each bite. The fries that came along were mediocre.

Lastly, dessert. By our waiter he recommended their Banana Foster pudding. I could tell it wasn’t made fresh that day of because the bananas were definitely ripened. They had a dark color to it. Also what was interesting was that this dessert felt like it had some sort of nutmeg spice or even cinnamon that I felt like it was overpowering the whole dessert itself. Not enjoyable at all.

Overall, I had better expectations for the food itself. Stated before the staff were great. Nothing towards them, super attentive throughout the experience. I might come back to try different food options and maybe their cocktails in the future.

Nightcap is the perfect late-night dining spot — classy, cozy, and full of personality. The desserts are incredible, but honestly, every dish I’ve had here has been excellent. It’s the kind of place where you can relax over cocktails and great conversation. A hidden gem for anyone who loves good food and ambiance.

Service, food, and atmosphere were excellent for a date night. Drinks missed the mark though unfortunately. Drinks were $20/ea and they were small and didn’t really taste the best lol. But food was great. We had the broccoli soup and also the grilled cheese, both delicious. This place is usually always packed.
