This was my first time trying Nigerian food, and I’m really glad I stopped by Nigerian Breeze. I ordered several items, including the fish, igese, spicy beef, plantains, and a meat pie.
The fish was amazing — the flavor and texture were absolutely on point. It was cooked perfectly and easily became my favorite dish of the night. The spicy beef definitely lives up to its name; it’s very spicy, so if you’re sensitive to heat, I’d suggest skipping that appetizer. The plantains were perfectly cooked, sweet, and flavorful.
The meat pie was delicious overall, though it had a bit more bread than meat. I would’ve loved a little more filling, but it was still enjoyable.
Overall, I’m really happy I came here and tried something new. The atmosphere is great for a date or a relaxed meal — plenty of seating, no overpowering music, and a comfortable space for conversation. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone curious about Nigerian cuisine.

I was so excited to have Nigerian food and this was a major let down. When I got the food to my car, the entire car started to have a strange chemical smell. I didn’t think too much of it as I was hungry and just really wanted to enjoy my meal. Well, the smell was coming from the Jollof rice. I think it was supposed to be smoked, but it just wasn’t done right. When I opened my container the intense smell just wafted through my house. There was no other flavor except smoke. No salt, no balanced spice, just WAY too much smoke. It was expensive, so as I tried to eat it but moments later I had a headache. The chicken was okay, a little dry but edible. We also ordered Egusi, which tasted equally as bad as the rice…just spicy. I just couldn’t believe I bought dinner for my family and we couldn’t even eat it. I am so disappointed because I expected it to be much better for the price. Even mediocre would’ve been okay, but it was completely unpalatable. Please read the reviews and beware of this place unless you really want to waste your money. I know I wish I would’ve read all the reviews and saved my money. There are other African places in San Diego to eat at and I recommend going somewhere else.

I ordered through DoorDash and had mixed feelings about this meal. The flavors are definitely there — especially the red pepper onion sauce that comes with the meat. That sauce was the highlight and added a really nice depth of flavor.
Unfortunately, the meats themselves were very dry. I ordered a combo with fish and goat (or possibly beef), and both were overcooked. The goat was tough and jerky-like, getting stuck between my teeth and difficult to chew. The fish was also extremely dry, which made it hard to enjoy.
The portion size was another disappointment. For $27, I expected something more substantial. The serving was very small — about half a cup of spinach at the bottom and only a couple of small pieces of meat. It felt more like a child’s portion than a full meal.
There is clear potential here because the seasoning and sauce are great. If the meats were cooked more carefully to stay tender and juicy, and the portions were more reasonable for the price, this could be a much better experience.

My husband and I are celebrating our birthdays here in San Diego. We came from Las Vegas to celebrate. We tried Nigerian food for the first time and oh my goodness, it was so good. We had the Egusi and Smoky Jollof Rice. It was our first experience, and we are hooked. The service was amazing—the waitress was very welcoming and helpful with the menu. We will definitely be coming back when we’re in town.

I had an incredible experience at this Nigerian restaurant! The food was not only flavorful and authentic, but the quantity was so satisfying — you definitely get your money’s worth. The quality of every dish truly stood out, from the seasoning to the texture. Whether you’re craving jollof rice, egusi soup, or peppered meat, everything was cooked to perfection.
I dined in and also ordered takeout, and I was impressed both times. The packaging for the takeout was top-notch — secure, neat, and still hot when I got home. The service was just as amazing — warm, professional, and attentive from start to finish.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a true taste of Nigeria with excellent value and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I went in for dinner with my family. As a proud Nigerian, I can confirm the authencity of the food. It was a trip back home with a nice variety in the menu. I like the efo riro/fufu and the rice/ayamase the most but everything tastes really good. The portions are also great too.

Maria was super helpful with my first time trying Nigerian food! The stew she recommended was amazing, beef with red sauce, greens and fufu, and the jollof rice with chicken was so good. Come support some African comfort food in Temecula !

First time trying this place and Nigerian food and I loved the experience. Authentic Nigerian dishes and the service was really great. During our stay we noticed a lot of clients coming in to purchase to go. I strongly recommend. My son even used his hands to try the fufu. The portions are very big, enough to share and actually spicy but not too spicy.
