I’ve been going to Nielsens for years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. They handed me a concrete that was already half melted, completely unacceptable. Serving melted ice cream is outrageous. That should never leave the counter under any circumstances. It shows a total lack of care and zero quality control.
On top of that, the lemon flavor tasted terrible and nothing like what I’ve enjoyed in the past. I’m honestly shocked they thought this was okay to serve. The standards at this location are ridiculous and the owner should be ashamed. I will not be coming back, and I’ll be warning others to stay far away.

What a cute little frozen custard shop! It’s like a step back in time to a 1950’s era ice cream shop. The custard was legitimately the best custard I have ever had and that’s saying something!

We went 2 hours before closing and the frozen custard was horrible! Not ANYTHING like we are used to from the Bountiful location. ‘Frozen’ custard was melted and uneatable. We got a lemon concrete and a cup of custard. Couldn’t even eat it. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.

Love this place! The Tuesday night workers are amazing. The manager is so nice, the custard is so thick and creamy, too! I love this place I would definitely recommend Nielsen’s to anyone.

We were the only car in the drive thru, they said they would help us in just 1 min. We sat there for 8 mins waiting for them to take our order. Then at the window they said “sorry we forgot about you.” The inside was practically empty. No one working just standing around. Still waiting for my husband’s one chocolate cup as I sit here and type this.

Frozen custard is amazing. The location is a little weird. Strip mall style. But the food makes up for it.

I don’t want to admit to the number of times I’ve been to Nielsen’s for a concrete. I grew up in Davis County. I’ve eaten at five different locations. Last night, my wife and I needed a break from the 100°F temperatures and headed over for some frozen custard. My wife ordered a concrete with the flavor of the day (they have vanilla and chocolate plus one additional flavor each day), raspberry, with brownie. I got chocolate with Oreos.
We ate out at the picnic tables as the sun set. The concretes were perfect. The staff was friendly and quick. I’m sure we’ll be back soon.

Stuff is so good, I mean how can you go wrong with 40% cream in a yummy dairy dessert. Snickers with vanilla custard….the bomb. Ask for Luke, dude does it right.

Very expensive compared to other ice cream places, and the oreo-vanilla concrete was nothing special. Chicken strips were also not great.

I’ve been enjoying Neilsen’s with my family for a long time. They are always an excellent choice for good food or dessert, the name can be deceiving as they are actually a diner! Turkey grinders are amazing and their fry sauce makes the meal sublime.
I recommend above all their concrete, it isn’t just for sidewalks anymore! They call their frozen custard with added ingredients concretes. It is so filling it might as well be a meal of its own and more reasonably priced than other restaurants these days.
