After much research niedlov came I’m multiple times as the bakery to visit in Chattanooga, so of course I added it to the list!!
First day in town was Friday and I see they have pizza Friday so it’s only right to order it.
I arrived a little earlier than my set pick up time but the staff was friendly and helpful on other items I wanted to purchase.
The pizza came out which was a mushroom pie and it was absolutely amazing. Hot, fresh, and flavorful. Could have used a pinch of salt but over all well worth the cost and time.
So I knew I had to visit the next day for pastries. I arrived mid morning and there was a line but once I ordered the food came out fast.
They were also very accommodating for warming up the scones I ordered which was very delightful, and the drip coffee is UNLIMITED!!!
The sandwich came out and they cut it as requested and again hot, fresh and full
Of flavor.
I can see why this place is rated by so many people. The space inside and out is cute, the staff is friendly, and everything from cookies, scones, sandwiches, pizza, and coffee all hit the mark of satisfaction.

Iconic Bakery For a Reason
This bakery is a Chattanooga favorite that has crafted artisan breads for many years. When you see Niedlov’s on a restaurant menu it’s an easy tip-off that they care about quality. Their storefront, Niedlov’s Bakery and Cafe on South Main, is a must-stop in Chattanooga. The baguette is just one example of the quality you will find. It’s a sourdough, in what I think of as a mildly sour east coast style, my favorite. It’s shaped beautifully and has a perfect crumb and chew. The ideal baguette. They don’t even advertise the fact that it contains organic ingredients. I found it on the label. Once you try Niedlov’s you’ll come back for more. It’s good stuff.

First time here and fell in love! The food and cozy fireplace especially on a rainy day was the best! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and coffee was heaven! The Fancy Sandwich was the best along with my house coffee and raspberry croissant!

What a gem! Added to my favorite places and will definitely stop again. Truly sorry for not having you in Chicago. The sourdough bread was exceptional! We stopped at Tims Ford’s park on the way to Lynchburg and simply couldn’t stop devouring it. Plain, just bread. So tasty! The pastries were also one of a kind, so flaky, crispy and flavorful. Thank you!

What a wonderful gem to find! Exceptional pastries! I got a whole box full because I wanted to try everything! Croissants are a mile high and flaky buttery magic! The scones are dense but so moist and delicious. The Pistachio Stick was the perfect layered treat with just enough filling to be considered illegal in some states. The morning bun is sooo simple but so perfect in its swirly layers of cinnamon sugar and fluffy yeasty bun. The latte and chai latte were both delicious and balanced perfection. Reasonable priced loaves to take for home. I grabbed an Appalachian Rye loaf and can’t wait to dig in to it. By far one of the best bakeries I’ve been to in the US. Rivals Italian patisseries easily!

Get the miso and kale skillet and thank me later. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long while. The maple pecan latte was a nice treat as well. Their pastries looked heavenly, excited to try one (or four) next visit. Line was to the door but moved at a reasonable place and we were able to snag a table inside easily.

Stopped at Niedlov’s in Chattanooga on my way to Nashville and it turned out to be a great find. The brisket sandwich was juicy and full of flavor and absolutely worth it. The panini was just okay, but the touch of lemon gave it a surprisingly refreshing finish. Wish I was served with salads instead of chips.
I usually take my coffee black, but the staff recommended their cold brew slushie, and it was phenomenal. Smooth, bold, and perfectly chilled. Def needed it.
The space has a warm, rustic charm, and the outdoor seating feels relaxed and homey, perfect for a slow morning or quick stop. Parking gets hectic during the lunch rush, so going early is your best bet. Was going in circle a few times.

Food was delicious! All of it. I had the ham and gruyere skillet! I do not love the setup here for service. Stand in line and order and sit … Maybe that’s just me .lots of places in the area that do this but for the caliper of food you’re ordering, you should be waited on. At the very least, make some space for people to stand in line, not being out the door into the weather. I would return for the food regardless, but definitely plan ahead…not the best for groups.
