My husband and I have visited Nicole’s Cafe on several occasions and have consistently enjoyed the food. During this visit, I ordered two pancakes with eggs and sausage. Mr. Anthony once again delivered a well prepared breakfast that met our expectations.
Unfortunately, my interaction with the owner was disappointing. While seated at the bar and shortly after receiving my meal, I greeted her and asked how her day was going, as we have done during previous visits. Instead of engaging in a friendly exchange, her response was abrupt and confrontational. When I calmly asked why she was speaking to me in that manner, she made negative remarks about my character and stated that I was a “bad person” and “going straight to hell.”
These comments were made loudly in front of staff and other customers.
As returning patrons who have previously experienced cordial interactions, this exchange was unexpected. Concerns or misunderstandings, if any existed, would be more appropriately addressed privately rather than in front of other guests.
Because of this experience, my husband and I will not be returning to Nicole’s Cafe.

Nice family owned restaurant that serves breakfast all day. Good menu selections as well as everyday specials. Family oriented so tables can sit up to eight people. However, the wait for your food can be a while. We waited over 45 min for our order.

Nicole’s on the River — a hidden oasis with great curb potential
Conveniently situated in a vibrant strip mall along bustling Blanding Boulevard, Nicole’s on the River offers a truly accessible dining experience. While the “river” in its name may flow more in the form of a charming blacktop current through the parking lot, the spirit of easygoing hospitality runs deep here.
Inside, guests will discover a cozy, no-nonsense spot where breakfast and lunch are served with a refreshingly unpretentious touch. The menu highlights familiar classics, complemented by trusted, recognizable brands that ensure a sense of comfort and consistency. Sturdy paper towels double as napkins— a thoughtful nod to practicality and sustainability.
For those who appreciate authentic local flavor and the convenience of a prime location with plenty of parking, Nicole’s on the River offers an experience as honest and approachable as its name is aspirational.

Finally tried breakfast at Nicole’s Cafe and it was a great experience! I’ve been craving a real fluffy biscuit and the cook delivered. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice and comfortable. Very clean, too! Hope to return for lunch soon to try their Mayport shrimp!

Food was good. Food value not so much and we didn’t order drinks. We did carry out and the order process was fine. Pictures say a thousand words. Our total was $28 for the food in the pic. Disappointed as Waffle House would have been two grand slams with drinks for this price.

The hamburger steak with onions and gravy are the absolute bomb! So tender and juicy. My daughter had the fried chicken and she ate everything on that plate. The collared greens were spot on as well. We actually got a double order of collard greens and lima beans to go… That’s how great this food is! We will definitely be back!

I’m actually shocked at the reviews because they didn’t line up at all with my expectations. Stopped by for lunch and they were pretty busy, we were told early on that it would be awhile for our food. I ordered the Ms. Bonnie’s Bowtie, it had a smile next to it saying it was a favorite so I figured you couldn’t go wrong with pasta salad and chicken. It was just not appealing. I’m shocked they would even serve someone that. The pasta was hard, it was doused in mayo, then it had random veggies and things on it. The chicken was the only edible part and unfortunately that wasn’t any good either. Others in my party also weren’t a fan of the food. Normally, I would give people another try but I just can’t. It was literally one of the worst meals I’ve ever gotten.

We just moved here from Michigan. Tried for weeks to find a good breakfast spot with decent portions. We came here, ordered Everything omelets. They were so delicious and filling, we were full for hours. The staff was awesome. Our server let the owner know that we were new here, and she brought out a free sample of their fried shrimp. So yummy and massive. We will be returning again and again. Thank you for such a fantastic experience.

The food was excellent! The pancakes are huge and fluffy and the sausage was great. But I have to say, the two ladies that helped us were absolutely fabulous! They did a great job with helping us pick things out on the menu and had the absolute best personalities! We will definitely go there again
