Went there for lunch and dinner because we were in the area both times. Such a good place. Passed it so many times the past 9 years, wish I had stopped. Burritos are huge, tacos are tasty and the empanadas are incredible. Definitely a must try if your in the area.

I ordered three orders of nachos today, and the food was absolutely terrible. The nachos were soggy, and the hamburger meat tasted awful—almost like dog food. I’m not sure if this place is under new management, but I’ve eaten here before and ordered the same thing, and it used to be much better. Something has definitely changed for the worse. Do not order the nachos from this place!

My experience here was not the greatest and it is sad because the food was so good. (One of the best tacos ive had) The customer service in the other hand was HORRIBLE. When you first walk in nobody greets you, they dont ask if you need anything, sit etc. The girl at the front desk is NOT a people person and honestly that could hurt a business immensely. I would never dine in again because it is soooo cold and you can tell they dont care about their customers. Hopefully they can change that and im sure their business will thrive.

Ramshackle hole in the wall adjoining a run down liquor shop. Looks like family run. The food was ok but nothing to really write home about. I’ve had authentic Mexican food and it was more flavorful than this. I will say there is a nice heat level to the sandwiches and the green sauce that comes with the burrito is quite nice (I think it was a tomatolli cilantro sauce).

When you go in don’t sit down and wait for table service just go up to the counter and order it you could be waiting awhile.

Unassuming little place in Newington. You might miss it driving by on Willard Ave. Nicolas has a pretty varied menu between pizza and Mexican fare. Had Crunchy Tacos and Empanadas. First the good news, the crunchy tacos were fantastic!! Had chicken, beef, chorizo and steak. All four were perfect. If you’re looking for good tacos this place is a great choice. Unfortunately the empanadas were seriously underseasoned and just bland with a fried dough that tasted like bad Chinese chicken tender dough. Taco’s are easily 5 stars (but a big loss for empanadas).

Regardless, their tacos and tostadas are 5 stars. 3 tacos, homemade crispy shells (a little over cooked) overstuffed with ground beef and some fixins, red and green hot sauce, very good. My advice to the owners, when a customer walks in and sits down, acknowledge them, don’t just sit at the cash register expecting them to know you’re not going to walk the 5 feet to their table. Also, when you serve, serv with silver or plastic ware. Just be conscious of your consumers.

If you want a huge tasty burrito then look no further! The Mariachi burrito is amazing! A great mixture of flavors, tastes fresh and the steak was grilled perfectly! Chips also taste fresh and are warm. Looking forward to coming back here to try their other burritos and their pizza!

Best Mexican place in the state bar none. Burritos are huge and delicious. You can tell the guac is made fresh and the tacos are authentic mexican style, no cheese or other filler.
