Ever since I moved to Pitts, literally everyone kept recommending Nicky’s Thai Kitchen, so I finally decided to give it a try. I went in with high expectations because of all the hype — but honestly, I left very disappointed.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, with nice décor and a cozy ambiance. Once we were seated, the service was good. However, we had to wait more than 10 minutes at the welcome table before anyone came to take us inside, which wasn’t the best first impression.

We ordered crab rangoon, chicken tom yum soup, and tiger beef curry. The crab rangoon was good and probably the best thing we had. The tom yum soup was very average — not bad, but nothing good. The biggest disappointment was the tiger beef. It was honestly disgusting. The beef was extremely dry and the flavor just wasn’t good at all.

I also had Thai iced coffee and mango juice. The Thai iced coffee was okay, but again nothing special. The mango juice was below average.

On top of that, the portion sizes were small for the price they charge. The dishes felt overpriced for the quality and quantity served, and there was also an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill. Considering everything, it just didn’t feel worth it.

I’m from Jersey, and I can confidently say that even small, cheap local Thai restaurants back home taste much better than this overhyped place. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

I’ve ordered Nicky’s Thai takeout a bunch, but tonight was my first time dining in and the place is a vibe. When it’s warm, the outdoor area looks like a little oasis. Food? Consistently great. Solid 10/10.

Nickys Thai Kitchen is one of our favorites, we have been going for years. They have consistently delivered excellence with every menu item. This location was very nice. We had the pad thai, pumpking curry and pad see ew noodles.

Nicky’s Thai Kitchen Mt. Nibo Road This is ridiculous space to order food to destroy your taste of thai food now a days. Literally waisted my money on water with raw vegetables. Definitely not recommended for thai food any longer. Very disrespectful staff and also their ears don’t work properly. Please check your take away orders before leaving this place. Please don’t waist your money at this place. The staff member or host ( Sophia ) is very arrogant.

Amazing Thai food!

We had a mixed group of vegan and non-vegans. Nicky’s didn’t disappoint! They had a chefs special of Hot Basil Vegan Duck. Loved the creativity and level of optionality! Everyone that ordered non-vegan menu items loved their food. The Pad See Ew was a hit. Also, highly recommend the mango salad on the menu. It makes for a stunning appetizer. If weather permits the patio is lovely and makes the dinner feel a tad more special.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, go try Nicky’s!

Though a bit of pricey with 20% added tip, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Will definitely return. Shown in picture is their pad tai and soup combo. This dish is plentiful for two!

I haven’t been to Thailand, but maybe the restaurants there have this exact kind of atmosphere. The authenticity of the interior and the elegance in the decorations are truly felt. What impressed me the most were the outdoor seating areas. You have to see it… On early Friday evenings, it’s very busy here. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to help with the choice of dishes and to explain each one of them.

Tom Yum is exactly why I came here. Order the Hotpot and you’ll definitely be delighted. It’s even too big a portion for one person.

The food and atmosphere of this restaurant were wonderful and very appealing.
We enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the water in the background while secluded by flowers and plants. The food was fantastic and the staff was all very kind. (Just a heads up for those dining in- there is a 20% ‘service fee’ already added to your check at the end. Yes the receipt will still ask you for a tip after)
