Unhappy customer
I can’t believe we spent nearly $40 for this garbage because my wife didn’t feel like cooking one night. I have no clue how this place is open. They have a lot of nerve charging money for this burnt, obviously frozen food components (meatballs, chicken, etc), and half a container of soup. The chicken parm sandwich had an unseasoned flavorless frozen chicken patty stuck between 2 buns with a minute amount of sauce and non existent cheese. The meatball sandwiches were burnt to a crisp. The meatballs were unseasoned, dense, bland and gross, also non existent cheese and sauce. My wife almost broke a tooth biting through that burnt bread. Even the french fries were DISGUSTING…they tasted like they were cooked a week ago. We were given a half empty styrofoam cup of “wedding soup”. It’s divorce material. This place should be ashamed they are serving this garbage and over charging for this frozen food. Look at the photos, is this something that looks appetizing to you? Does this look like it’s worth $40? No of course it doesn’t. Trying to support local businesses isn’t worth a dime when this is what you get.

I was asked to not come back because I didn’t tip (on a 95 dollar bill, and they also charge fees for using a credit card. They’re literally putting all the burden on the customer.) While a hot button topic I’m sure, the United States is the only country that does this at such a scale. Europe doesn’t adhere to the practice at all. With Nick’s Inn 62 having their prices increase as much as they have (17.95 for a fish dinner on Friday, up from 15.95 just not that long ago) you’d think they could afford to pay their staff enough to not need tips.
They said “we do a lot for you”
Yes, you do the job you’re paid to do. That’s how this works. The guys going to work at the automobile factory don’t get tips for their work after the car gets sold to or at a dealership, do they? Of course not, that’s silly. As such is tipping. Charge more, pay your staff, don’t require tips. Quite simple.
Why does society say I have to tip this group of people, but not Mcdonalds workers? I won’t play ball with that nonsense, and you have the right to ask me to not come back.
I won’t mind exploring other restaurants in town.

Years ago I rated 5 stars, but in 2025 I simply cannot recommend. The fish sandwich used to be larger, now they take half of a fish dinner to make a single fish sandwich. A fish dinner is 15.95 and a fish sandwich is 12.95. For 3 bucks less you get HALF of the fish dinner, and one less side.

It was my first time to Nick’s Inn 62 Restaurant. For a Friday night, it was busy, but there was a short wait for a table. I had the chicken parmesan and potato dumpling soup. Both were very good. Our waitress was very nice and very professional.

I was so shocked to find out they have a limit on fountain drinks!!! If I’m going into a business to spend money and eat, I want to know that I can drink as much as I feel like– especially when it’s non alcoholic. The service was pretty standard; however, their food tastes like most of it comes frozen from a bag. I would not eat here again simply because of the “pop” restriction. That truly blew my mind and it’s not like the prices are so cheap I can justify it.
