If you are looking for a meal that transports you straight to a boutique kitchen in Germany, Nick’s German Kitchen is the spot. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, but the food is where the real tradition shines. Everything we had was scratch-made, authentic, and packed with the kind of deep, savory flavors that only come from a chef who knows the classics inside and out.

The Standout Dishes
Lumberjack Schnitzel: This is easily one of the best versions of schnitzel I’ve had. The pork cutlet was perfectly thin and crispy, but the toppings really took it over the top. It comes loaded with fried onions, bacon, and a perfectly cooked fried egg, all served over a bed of bacon fried potatoes and creamy sauerkraut. It’s a massive, flavorful engine of a meal that doesn’t miss a beat.

Spaghettieis (Spaghetti Ice Cream): You can’t leave without trying this. It’s a classic German dessert where vanilla ice cream is pressed through a ricer to look like noodles, topped with a bright strawberry “tomato sauce” and shaved white chocolate “parmesan.” It’s as fun to look at as it is to eat, and a huge hit if you’re dining with kids.

The Verdict
The service was excellent, and the attention to detail in the scratch-made Spaetzle and sauces is evident. Whether you’re a German food purist or just looking for a hearty, high-quality meal, Nick’s is a 10/10.

My first time going and I loved it. The food is amazing and the ambient wonderful. Outside seating provided with a blanket to cover up in case you are cold. True german way. We also had dessert.

Vacationing in Charleston area for the next 3 days. We know there are tons of restaurants in the area but this is a good one. The veal liver was very tender and the potato pancakes were delicious. The service was outstanding too.

Nick’s is a great spot if you have an itch for comfort food- and by that I mean schnitzel. Who doesn’t love a good schnitzel? Been twice and it consistently delivers.
Nick’s is a small spot tucked back in Mount P. With a great atmosphere and pretty straight forward menu and reasonably priced, always delicious items.

The starters are great and love a side of Spaetzle (pasta) but the star of the show for me is schnitzel – got the Jagerschnitzel (pork) and the Weinerschnitzel (veal). The Jeager is more of a savory mushroom cream sauce. Weiner snitzel is more plain, and seasoned with lemon zest. I personally think due to its plain-ness and being Veal, this is a bit over priced when the other pork snitzels have such great tasty gravy and toppings, and are about $10 less!
But really, its a tasty spot and reasonably priced for a great dinner out in chuck.
*note- not a full bar (no cocktails) but great beer and wine selection* good German beers!

My husband and I were so excited to try this restaurant and we finally had the time to drive from West Ashley to Mt Pleasant. We didn’t have a reservation so felt really lucky when two spots were available at the bar. Upon sitting down, we noticed dishes piled up behind the bar, what seemed like no actual bartender, and a frantic energy coming from the staff. We decided to bail after not being offered drinks and getting the general feeling that something was a little off. We were so sad to leave but hope to try again soon! The food that we did see looked delicious.

Authentic German dishes cooked to perfection! We stopped in by chance for dinner, no reservation. They had a table available outside and it was nice. We had the Lumberjack Schnitzel, The Black Forest Schnitzel, and the sausage loaf special. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. I do recommend making reservations.

Food is delicious is an understatement! I’d give Nick’s 10 stars if it was available. Vibe is upscale yet cozy, service unsurpassed (beautiful Michelle treated us like royalty). Such a contrast to most local restaurants where it’s too loud and you’re rushed.
