Hidden Gem Alert!
I stopped by Nick’s Deli in Hixson and grabbed a roast beef and pastrami sandwich to go—and WOW. One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly stacked. The place itself is super simple, no frills, but that’s part of the charm. You can tell they focus on quality food and great service.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. You can tell they take pride in what they do.
If you’re ever in the area and craving a solid deli sandwich, do not skip this spot. Support small businesses like this—you won’t regret it!

I didn’t get to meet Jolly St. Nick himself but I certainly met the best Muffuletta I have ever consumed! If you’ve been searching for a real deli (as in NY), you should give this quaint place a try. Lots of room to move around if your transportation involves walkers or wheel chairs. Love the background recorded piano music. Be sure to check out the daily specials and the chalk boards behind the counter (The Super Deli Wrap and Cuban). Very simple place for a delectable meal.

I stumbled upon this place after taking a friend to a thrift shop nearby. I hadn’t really spent much time in the area and was looking for somewhere to grab lunch that wasn’t a fast food joint or a chain. You could almost miss this place because it’s so unassuming. Something about a great deli sandwich and dill pickle sounded perfect to us.
Oh man, this place did not disappoint. First, you walk in and are greeted by a casual, unpretentious restaurant with a deli counter toward the back. It’s a neighborhood spot that serves locals and isn’t trying to impress, which I think is a good thing.
I was excited to see a traditional Reuben on the menu — I hadn’t had one in ages. I’m glad I took the chance because it was by far one of the best Reubens I’ve ever had. There were plenty of other delicious options, so I look forward to trying them all on future visits.
The staff was friendly as well – pretty sure it was Nick himself who served us. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to bring my Chicago family here the next time they visit.

Originally from Chattanooga! This has always been one of my favorite spots in town! Moved away to Denver but everytime I fly in I stop by and grab a Reuben (best in the country idc argue with a wall) always amazing service and amazing food!!!

The best deli in Hixson and the city of Chattanooga in my opinion. Everything is always delicious plus their staff is so incredibly friendly. Since my family is from NY I always feel a bit at home here. Nick does an excellent job of providing quick delicious sandwiches plus they have amazing salads. Hixson is so lucky to have a place like this!

This is hands down the best deli in the area. It’s the only place I’ve found with an authentic Italian sub outside of my dad’s kitchen. I used to go here for lunch pretty regularly, but still happy to go out of my way since I’ve changed jobs. Nick’s never disappoints!

Shout out to Nick’s Deli and Marketplace on Hixson Pike. Closest thing to a “big city east coast” deli in this town. The owner is there every day making the food. Very friendly place! If you like a good sandwich and dont need a fancy place go there now! Best quality ingredients. Reuben for the win.
