Nick the Greek was born after one of three close-knit cousins, Nick (Baby Nick), traveled home from a trip to Greece and realized that there was nowhere near home where he could get quality gyros. As second-generation restaurateurs, Nick and his two cousins, also named Nick (Big Nick and Little Nick) decided to start their own modern restaurant concept. The Nick the Greek concept was born. It has grown to become an incredibly popular, multi-unit chain and a restaurant franchise opportunity primed for even more growth!

Absolutely incredible experience at Nick the Greek in Monterey! I’ve had a lot of Mediterranean food, but this is hands down the best gyro meat I have ever tasted in my life. It was seasoned perfectly and so tender. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. I actually got to meet the owner, and he is one of the nicest, most hospitable guys you’ll ever meet. He truly cares about his guests and it shows in every detail of the restaurant. If you’re in Monterey, you HAVE to eat here!Absolutely incredible experience at Nick the Greek in Monterey! Nick the Greek in Monterey is really a nice place for families. The menu has many vegetarian options, so everyone in the family can find something to eat. They also change the food how you want it, which is very helpful for our choices and restrictions. The food tastes fresh and very good, and the quality feels high. The ambience is simple but warm and comfortable, and it feels good to sit and eat there. The staff is kind and helpful, and they listen carefully when you explain what you need. For people who are vegetarian or have special choices with food, this place feels perfect. It is a spot we feel happy to go back to again.

I come here often from work for lunch, and it never disappoints. The Chicken Gyro Bowl is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken is cooked just right — juicy and tender every time. I also love that it comes with warm pita bread on the side, which makes the whole meal even better.
You can really tell the chefs are doing an amazing job — no doubt about it. The quality and consistency keep me coming back. Service is decent and the staff is always friendly. This has definitely become one of my regular lunch spots. NICK THE GREEK ROCKS.

Nick the Greek in Monterey was a great find. The food was fresh and tasted great. Our little daughter loved it too, which says a lot because she can be picky. We ended up going back again during our vacation because it was that good. The service was very friendly both times. Easy place to recommend.

Nick the Greek did an amazing job catering for our 60-person wedding welcome party on Carmel Beach. After speaking to someone at the Monterey location by phone, we were able to place the whole catering order online. The catering options are very flexible with a lot of customization available so you can get exactly what you need. They weren’t able to deliver to the beach, but we had someone pick the food up and everything was ready to go right on time. The portions were very generous, the food was hot, and guests loved it. We had tons of leftovers and it was a huge hit.

The Chicken Souvlaki is normally excellent here, we’ve been getting it for years. Unfortunately something odd happened tonight. The chicken was not seasoned at all and both the chicken and rice were sopping with oil. The salad was oddly bitter and normally is much better. Hopefully it’s a one time thing but I’ve noticed the rice has been deteriorating in the last few months though so this may be a trend or they lost a chef.

Pleasantly surprised. I like falafel even though most of the time it’s too dry wherever I go, but this falafel was moist. Yea ya heard that… m o i s t. The sauces were good too. It’s all about the sauces.

The food was unfortunately tasteless. I orders the shawarma plate,
The service was very slow, although cashier was nice. She definitely guided us to chicken shawarma.
The atmosphere is decent and inviting. However I have had better food at other Nick the Greek locations.

I’ve never been to another Nick the Greek, but this one is fantastic. The franchise owner is incredibly helpful and very kind, and the food is great. I recommend the beef/lamb gyro pita and Nick’s Fries (with chicken gyro for me). The place itself is relatively small with fairly sterile decor, but they do have helpful pronunciations on the wall that I found fun (gyro = yeer-oh, not hero ). It’s really a perfect spot for something quick and delicious (their food is great through Doordash and Uber Eats as well).

Visited the Bay Area over the weekend (I’m from TX), my family & I decided to take a quick trip to this beautiful quaint city of Monterey. Stopped by Nick the Greek for lunch…& I had the best falafel pita ever! It was beautifully crisp on the outside & soft & full of flavor on the inside! For dessert, I had the Baklava with yogurt, first time trying out baklava in this style…it was heavenly!!! I definitely will come back!! Or better yet, open a location in DFW!!
