Our first time at “Nick the Greek,” originally founded by three Tsigaris cousins (Big Nick, Little Nick, and Baby Nick), hence the name. This fast-casual restaurant serves authentic Greek street food. Customers can build their own bowls and dishes with a variety of fresh ingredients and proteins, including beef, chicken, falafel, and traditional pork. We both tried the beef/lamb gyro combo. I had mine with Greek fries, and Shanda selected the Greek salad. The gyro meat was so flavorful; it really stood out. I enjoyed the Greek fries. The Greek salad’s veggies were cut a little thick and could have used a little lettuce and some balsamic vinegar. They are located at the CityScape complex downtown, a Greek food hidden gem. Please support them.

Nick the Greek in downtown Phoenix offers standard Greek street food like gyros and souvlaki in a convenient CityScape location. The beef/lamb gyro was decent but lacked bold seasoning, and the fries were average. Service was efficient but impersonal—nothing memorable. Fine for a quick bite if you’re nearby, but not worth seeking out. 3/5 stars.

I stopped in for a late lunch and had a great experience. They do not carry any shellfish which is great for those in need of shellfish allergy accommodations. I had the chicken gyro bowl combo with pita and a soda, it was delicious! The restaurant was clean and the gentleman at the counter was friendly and helpful in going over the menu.

The food was good, but not spectacular. The service could have used maybe a smile or something that felt more than a vague acknowledgement of existence. The atmosphere was pretty minimalistic but not hostile.

Good food! The Greek salad does not have lettuce, but it was great! Service was ok. Very spacious restaurant!

The food is always good. But the bigger guy that works the counter sure has a way of making POC feel unwelcome. Especially when we watch his entire customer service presentation change for other customers. It’s disheartening when you spend the same kind of money as others.

Casual location to enjoy comfortable food.
Ordered food at the counter and since it wasn’t very busy, the cashier delivered the food to our table, that was very nice.
We had the beef/lamb gyros, great flavors, plenty of garlic on both meat and tzatziki. Hand cut fries.
Traditional Greek desserts also available, we had a baklava, it was tasty.

I have catered from herea couple of times and the food is always amazing. Delivery is hit or miss. I have had a couple of deliveries that were 20+ min late. the excuse is traffic but honestly, if you are offering delivery, you should be tracking traffic so you aren’t late. this is also a highly catered area so traffic shouldn’t be a surprise.

Very personable staff, very good food, and quick! We wandered around downtown, trying three restaurants (~6pm), finding wait times up to 1.5 hours, before coming across this casual place. And so glad we went in. We walked right up to the counter, ordered salads, souvlaki with pita, and a gyro. Pita was soft and delicious. The hummus was tasty, as was everything else. Definitely a go-to for me, and the pricing was a bonus.

We saw this place near our hotel and decided to give it a try. We came during the lunch rush around 12 pm. They took our order and brought our food out in about 15 minutes. I ordered a veggie pita, Greek fries, and loukoumades. The pita could’ve used a tad bit more seasoning I’d give it a 7/10. The fries were really good 10/10. The loukoumades were good but could’ve used a glaze or dipping sauce 7/10. I’d come back and try the food again.
