My wife and I were treated like Royalty last night at Nick & G’s. Jacob, our server and Trevor, their manager did an excellent job making sure everything was near perfection. Jacob was a fun and energetic guy who listened and responded to our requests. Trevor is a wine connoisseur, no doubt. Totally pleased with their service and would definitely recommend 100%.

Excellent service. Food was meh was expecting exceptional. Calamari was over salted and we like salt! Ceasar salad was just blah- needed more dressing which we asked for that helped. The chicken parmesan over alfredo pasta sounded delicious but it had cruciferous veggies in the alfredo pasta i.e. broccoli and cauliflower under the chicken parm- which was just a no. the chicken parm breading flavor was spot on same as the Calamari which was odd. Lobster bisque tasted scorched. the bread pudding was dry and dense like a rock. not moist and custard-like with a crusted top as it should be. The live music was fun and drinks were good. Hoping the game is improved as we’d enjoy making this a regular spot.

We had dinner here with a large group of friends in the local Porsche club. Service was excellent. The food was very good and prepared perfectly. I’m sure everyone else had a good time too. We should be back again!

While the food remains consistently excellent, our recent experience at Nick & G’s fell short of the fine-dining, high-end experience they usually provide. Subtle atmosphere changes, no table cloths, loud, extended sound checks close to tables, and over a two-hour, disjointed service pace for two people were disappointing. Furthermore, logistical issues— lack of simple items like cream/spoons, requests for heater ignored, and staff running extremely thin—left us feeling cold and forgotten. Despite the great food and comping our two drinks, we are rethinking future visits, especially given the premium price point.

I went on a Sunday night, we were a party of 4. The restaurant was not busy. Many available tables. All the food that should have been hot was served warm at best. The 2 meat dishes ordered were very undercooked, order at med-rare, served with raw centers and served at room temperature. In addition 2 of our party became ill that night due to the food. Very disappointing. I was hoping to enjoy this place.

Sat outdoors on the patio in early evening following some rainy days. Great that there were heaters. Made it very comfortable. Manager seated me and struck up a friendly conversation about where I was visiting from. I ordered a specific malt liquor from the menu, but the waitress returned to say they were out. I had the spaghetti and meatball entree, which is the reason I sat down after reading the displayed menu on the sidewalk. It was served hot and delicious. The meatballs were incredibly light and flavorful. I did request salt, as it was on no table to be seen. The only problem: the spaghetti portion was unusually small for such a good dish. About six bites in and my plate was dry. I then ordered a house salad for the advertised anchovies because I didn’t quite feel I had enough. Another problem: I could not discern any anchovy at all. For the $32 smallish spaghetti and a miniature half salad, I felt it was overpriced for the offerings. When the manager came back to chat some more, he had already forgotten where I told him I was from. A birthday party for an eleven year old girl was happening in a banquet room so many kids and moms were hovering all over chatting and visiting.

My family has lived in Rancho Santa Fe for over a decade so we have seen all the tenants of this space. Prior to Nick & G’s it was Delicias, which was a bit more homely, but Nick & G’s does specialize in steak so it really is a nice change. This part of town is very sleepy and easy to find parking and it’s never too crowded or too noisy. It is casual dining, but I think business casual would be most appropriate. Our server was very polite and we were able to be seated right when we arrived for a 6 PM dinner.
I have been to Nick & G’s a few times so I mix it up each time I visit but this most recent stop in I chose to start with the French Onion Soup, which was quite small but very good. For my entrée I chose the Filet Mignon which I did enjoy although I wish it would not have had as much demiglaze and spinach on top. I felt that it took away from the steak flavor. I really wanted to try the White Chocolate Bread Pudding for dessert but I was too full at the end of the meal so I plan to try it in the near future. Overall, I really love this part of town and it’s very close to where my family lives so it’s extremely convenient for us, but I would recommend to anyone looking for a great date spot or place to have dinner with friends or family.

My husband and I recently had dinner at Nick & G’s. The Ribeye Steak was the best steak we ever had. Incredibly delicious. Paired well with the Marscapone Whipped Potatoes. Welcoming staff. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend

So we are new to the ranch and we were looking for a local place to celebrate our anniversary. I drive past Nick & G’s everyday and it always has such an inviting atmosphere. It did not disappoint. Real quick though… our hostess, Lindsay, 100% set the vibe for the evening and was so kind and fun she definitely made the night. It was quiet on a Tuesday, as expected, but still, it was a good place for an enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing evening. And the food was ah-ma-zing. I would totally recommend. Also, just found out they have live music on the weekend, so we might end up regulars. 😉

Let me guess, the G stands for garbage? Or God awful? The food here couldn’t be more mediocre for the price. Service is sub par; similar to the other reviews the ambience is not great. It looks like they stapled couch cushions to the wall to improve the acoustics.
Had the steak and chicken parm. AVERAGE!! I don’t see why the rating for this restaurant is so high. I recommend avoiding this place – not worth the money. They are SO lucky to be in a higher end neighborhood without much competition.
