My work sister and I went to Niche in Paxton for the first time today. We had been talking about going for some time, like since June! Yes! It’s taken that long to get over there!

We were greeted kindly by Malinda at the front counter and then by Michele who came from the kitchen. This is key to keeping customers, welcoming your customers with a warm welcome and big smiles! Krystal and I proceeded to peruse the menus stationed at the counter to see what we wanted for lunch. I was talking to Krystal about my trip next year to Philadelphia on the way to Niche.

Ironically, we both chose Philadelphia sandwiches for lunch. I chose the Philly Italian Sausage. And Krystal chose the Philly Italian Beef. We agreed both of our sandwiches were delicious. We both added the extra $2.99 to make it a combo. Go big or go home, right?! The $2.99 got us ‘Nice’ or curly fries and a 12 oz soda. I opted for ‘Twister’ fries and Krystal got the ‘Nice’ fries. Malinda told me the ‘Nice’ fries were simply, the straight basic fries. LOL! I thought it was something totally off the wall.

After enjoying our lunch inside at one of the four tables they offer customers to sit at, we took home the special of the day parfait, the Strawberry Cheesecake Shortcake. I’ve dug into it and I gotta say, YUMMY!!! Check out the pics. and the captions for the sandwiches we enjoyed as well as the delicious parfait. So yes! Niche Paxton, Illinois serves a great niche of people from surrounding communities who love a variety of foods.

The menu is quite robust and offers generous pricing, aligned with other small town restaurants. This is located at the old Lucky’s Place where I used to love getting a Chicago Dog from. But guess what?! Niche offers those too, along with a few other varieties of tube steak on a bun! This is what I call sausages and hot dogs. I’m a CooCoo. I know!

Best Italian beef I’ve EVER had!! I’m incredibly picky about Italian beef, so I took a chance and sooo glad I did!! Love the au jus as well! I always get extra. So much flavor!! And great serving sizes!! The hot dogs are great! My husband loves the meatball ravioli sandwich (it’s huge!). We drive an hour one way just to order us some Niche! And the employees are always friendly and very welcoming!

The food here is inedible. Most of the food pictures on this page are fake. The hot dog was grey and mushy and not actually a Vienna hotdog. The polish sausage and Italian beef were microwaved and rubbery. Absolutely disgusting.

Our first visit. Had the beef with sweet peppers dipped. My son had the chili dog. Oh so good. Real potatoes used for fries. Definitely a Chicago treat. Grew up in Chicago,so I know. You won’t be disappointed. ✌️

I delivered a refrigerator here and the owner offered me a sandwich. Not one to turn down a Polish sandwich, I accepted his offer. The sandwich was incredible and the fries were great as well. Very nice people. I will definitely have to come back.

For $6 you get a Chicago Style beef hot dog, fries and a drink! My favorite place to eat! The chicago dogs are great, the chilli / chillicheese dogs are amazing and the fries are good! Small town charm lives in this place.
