I can’t believe such an amazing restaurant exists in this small town! It’s a must-visit for travelers exploring northern small cities. The staff are so kind and warm, and the food is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been to many good restaurants, but I’ve never come across a place this perfect and sweet. Don’t miss out on their unique homemade sauce—it’s a must-try! On my first visit, I waited 40 minutes to order, but it was well worth it (it was during the busy mealtime rush, so I was happy to wait). My top recommendations are the Greek Salad and the Cashew Chicken

Our family of four and our friends, a family of 5, went out for brunch between the kids’ hockey games on Sunday. We all had traditional breakfasts of eggs any style, choice between five meats, toast, and homefries. We added some pancakes and french toast. The portions are large and we left with full bellies. We were so pleased with our experience at Nguyens in Mattawa. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The price cannot be beat. We felt welcomed and look forward to our next trip back when the kids have another double-header in Mattawa.

I walked in having never been here, and having rarely even been in Mattawa and was recommended the meaty pizza. I can confidently say this was one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time and Domino’s is usually my go to. But this was better. If you’re near or passing through Mattawa stop at Nguyens.

Called to order take out for dinner last night. I asked at 4:25 pm if we could have the order ready after 5:30 for pick up. The staff member said it wouldn’t be ready until about 6:30 pm. I agreed, and then got a call at 5:00 saying my food was ready for pick up. After rushing to pick up the food, we found out that the noodles in our Pho were entirely overcooked along with all the beef in the pho. We couldn’t take a bite or pick up noodles without them disintegrating. This is frustrating as regulars. Please do better as this is unacceptable.

Came to Nguyens for all you can eat wing night. When we arrived there were only a few people already seated inside. We ordered the all you can eat wings and the wait was over an hour. When the food finally came out the waitress was rude when we didn’t identify the flavour as the one we ordered due to her calling it by a different name. The attitude we received was completely unacceptable in the food industry. We watched as she treated various other customers with varying degrees of disrespect. I will say that the food we did get was delicious but the wait staff was awful. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.

Wings were good. The service was, frankly, wholly unacceptable.
The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, but it took just over 50 minutes for our first order of wings to come out from the time of ordering. When the server was asked what the likelihood of getting a second round before close was (40 minutes), she was unable to say. There were many other noticeably frustrated customers both dining in and taking out due to the absurd wait times.
Whether this is a personnel or equipment issue, the combination of wait time and the lack of acknowledgement at the excess of it was outrageous.

We’ve eaten here twice now, once for Vietnamese’s dishes and the other for North American fare; both meals fantastic.

Quiet and cozy dining area, friendly staff and wonderful food. The Phó is extremely generous proportionally and very tasty. It’s a meal on its own even if you share with another person. We shared beef spring rolls and shrimp spring rolls with the peanut sauce, as well as the Phó. Everything was marvelous. I didn’t think to take photos this time. Maybe next time. The table near us ordered the fried chicken. It smelled amazing- even with a full stomache. I will definitely have to try that next time.
