I moved away from Colorado 12 years ago. I would pay double for the chance to have another Gus Burger, the one with the pastrami. Used to order it religiously the many times I went there. Next time I am in town, guess what I’m getting.

The tables haven’t been wiped down in weeks. There’s no one in the restaurant but somehow there’s unbussed tables with food scraps and cups on them. The main lights are off. We ordered a deluxe burger and a club sandwich. Pretty standard. The food could have not been worse because there was only one person working in the whole place. The burger was really bad. Old thin flavorless gray small patty placed in an extra large old soggy bun with old toppings. The only thing fresh on the burger were the bacon and avocado. The club sandwich was thrifty. Only one slic of thin cut hand and turkey for 4 slices of bread and a whole head of lettuce. If you want old cheap hastily put together food. Come eat here. Of it’s not a front for some weird stuff.

Place itself needs a revamp. A lot of the sodas were empty and there avocado burger had very little avocado. Its worth going there for the pizza looked really good. One of the most reasonable places in the town 27 dollars for two meals.

I’ve only eaten here twice and only had the burgers, but they’re amazing. I will have to try other things eventually. The place was clean both times I’ve been here. The building is a bit run down but it was plenty clean, especially for a burger joint. Prices are reasonable too especially compared to chain restaurants.

The owner was very nice and hospitable. I had got 2 orders of chilli cheese fries (green chili) and it was delicious. I didn’t pay over $20. That was a plus for me. When I go next time I think I’ll try one of their sandwiches.
