The premium sashimi set was overall just ok to me. Additionally, the waitress began introducing the ingredients to my partner while I was getting water, so I missed the explanation, which is why I didn’t understand very well what fish in the omakase set was actually served. My partner isn’t very familiar with sashimi, so I would have been the one to ask questions. The portion was quite small for the price we paid, and overall, I felt it wasn’t worth it.
The eel rice, however, was very good.
It was a small, crowded space with just one waitress doing her best, rushing around. We could literally hear everything the guests next to us were saying, which was a bit distracting. Overall, it wasn’t the best dining experience.
Next time, I’ll just order the eel rice to go.

We recently tried this spot for a early lunch. Will be coming back because of the quality and genuine customer service, along with the very detailed food flavor profile and freshness. We appreciated the attentive staff, and are excited for the next-door area to open. It looks like they have a secondary lounge. That will be a little bit more bougie, but still belongs to them opening up!
Will be bringing some friends here in the future hopefully. Only suggestion is a slight size increase on the “appetizers of the day”
Parking is ample, little bit hidden of a spot, since it is on the backside of some of the Whole Foods market shops, but with great reviews like the one I see as of now I imagine they will grow in popularity.

Passed by Whole Foods and found this restaurant (probably opened recently? Didn’t notice it before) and decided to give it a try. Food is good, fresh fish with right level cooked rice. Atmosphere is so so, the table wasn’t clean when sitting down, I have to wipe the table by myself. Service is acceptable level. One thing I don’t understand is that you need to pay the whole bill in advance before being seated, including tips. I told the waitress that I don’t know how much tips I should pay since I haven’t been seated yet. However, since it’s my first time here, I still paid the highest option tips on the iPad, risk taking when you go to a new place right?

After trying it three months ago, I began visiting this place regularly since it’s on my way to my kids’ afterschool activities. Today, when I stepped into the restaurant, they notified me that they had changed the menu. I looked into it and found they had raised the prices in a peculiar way. Generally, if a restaurant wants to raise prices, they will simply say, “OK, this dish is $12 now instead of $10,” which is the typical method. This restaurant, however, is different. They kept the set meals at the original price but removed all the side dishes. To help you understand, here’s an example: The most expensive set, the “premium sashimi set,” normally came with a dish of fish, some appetizers, miso soup, and regular size bowl rice, and it cost $49 before tax. Now, they still sell the “sashimi set” for $49, but nothing else is included. You need to pay for the rice, miso soup, and side dishes separately. So, if you still want the same amount of food as before, it will cost you about $10 more, making the total over $60 before tax. When you add tax and tips, the total will be around $80 per person. Personally, I would say this price doesn’t match the restaurant due to the atmosphere, the quality of the food, etc. Well, it’s just my opinion, but I don’t believe I’ll be coming here again.

Had a lovely first visit here! The food was delicious, and I’ve heard great things about their unagi – definitely on my list for next time. The service was truly exceptional, our waitress was an absolute gem! ☺️

Redmond’s hidden gem for Japanese food. This place is perfect for lunch or quick dinner. I ordered unagi bowl, the unagi is not the same as the one in a grocery store. The texture and taste is much better that what you could get anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Perfect little place with good quality fish. I got the premium sashimi set and the unagi set. Both are delicious. There are hardly any unagi places that make their own dishes from scratch.

You MUST TRY the American wagyu beef donburi!✨ This dish is a flavor-packed joyride – tender and perfectly cooked medium rare beef that comes with rice, salad, miso soup and 2 small dishes. The staffs were attentive and my meal was served so promptly . Whoever says that quick bites couldn’t be top-notch/ high quality clearly hasn’t experienced Nextowa. Five stars for sure.

Fast food version of towa is decent with fresh sashimi. I regret to order kurobuta pork bowl and Ayu fish – not tender enough.

Super delicious and authentic Japanese restaurant at where Asiana Teriyaki used to be. Ingredients are high quality, served in traditional style. Two thumbs up.

The food tasted fine. The miso was good, the unagi was Bad, the salad and bite of eggplant were unremarkable. But for a meal that cost 80 (eighty) dollars, there was A) an absolutely inappropriate amount of fishbones in our food, making the unagi borderline inedible, B) not enough food – our meal came with two “appetizers,” one which was a small salad, and one which was a literal, single, bite of eggplant – and C) overall, the food didn’t taste good enough, the service wasn’t good enough, and the waitstaff weren’t responsive enough, for the meal to cost as much as it did. Also, you pay upfront, so, whatever tip you give them before eating is already paid.
Never going back, and I won’t recommend them to anyone. I hope they figure their issues out, I have never disliked somewhere so intensely to leave an online review, before.
