My husband and I went here for breakfast and we had the best time ever! It was truly one of the very best breakfasts we’ve ever had. The coffee was SO good! They got it just right. We ordered pancakes and they were so big and delicious we were shocked! They have many different pancake fillings. All of them were so good! Even the eggs, almost gourmet they were that good. The sausage was out of this world, and the bacon was so delicious. Honestly you can tell these guys know what they’re doing. The chef/cook is top notch fine dining level, but at a cost of a normal diner. I have no idea how they do it. We’ve been to Regions 117, and the most top dollar breakfast restaurants in the area and this is by far the absolute best… we’ve ever had in our lives. And I am willing to go that far. It was so good. The service was amazing and so nice, and the owners couldn’t have been nicer. So professional yet down to earth and just all around good guys. We had such a good time. The family feud funniest moments was playing on TV, and we really enjoyed watching it while enjoying breakfast. Actually we’re on our way right now! You won’t be let down. This place really does it right . It’s exactly what this town needed! Thanks so much for everything !

As I was driving through in Stephen’s City I saw that the restaurant was finally back open. I loved eating here previously. However, with the new owners and staff it will never be the same. I ordered the burger since it said homemade. The meat tasted like they threw it in the microwave and slapped cheese on it. I was very disappointed with the burger. As for the fries they were good since they put pepper on it. Another note that needs to be taken is that this restaurant has hardly anything on the menu. If this restaurant does not makes come changes they will soon be out of business.

I was on a road trip from West Virginia backup to New York.i was looking for some place to get breakfast. I’m not going to lie reading the negative reviews about bad attitudes made me question it. But being from New York I thought how bad could it be from what I’m used to. However everybody was friendly and the waitress was very nice. More importantly the food was amazing.

Newtown Diner— small town feel…food to fill!!

Here’s our experience and review:
Staff— Heather is a gem! She’s sweet as can be, and very attentive to what her customers need. She does her best to keep up with the crowd. The cooks were busting it trying to get everyone’s plates out as quick as they can. I can see how large crowds can overwhelm this small establishment at times. But they definitely don’t slack in working hard to meet everyone’s desires. We had our food from order to table was about 15 minutes.
Food— went for breakfast. Everything was cooked as we like it. The pancakes were bigger than I’ve ever seen! They were bigger than the plate!! My husband couldn’t even finish them because they were so big! We saw another table’s omelet was falling off the edges of the plates! They do not short you on the quantity of food!!!
Prices— this seems to be a bone of contention with many here. While I understand some folks expect McD’s pricing, if you have eaten at Cracker Barrel or some of the other breakfast joints around town lately, their prices aren’t much different. But I can tell you that I’ve never seen pancakes or omelets this size at Cracker Barrel! Hubby and I could have split one meal easily. Instead we took home the size of another meal for later. So to me the prices are fair for the volume of food you get.
Vibe— it reminds me of an old time diner we used to call the “greasy spoon” local diner. The staff know the locals and welcome them by name. The folks in the back cooking came out and greeted some of the locals. It was a nice vibe! And we were in and out in under an hour.

We will be back!

This was the first time we’ve been to the Newtown Diner. I read a positive article in the Winchester Star about the diner, and we decided to try it out. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area. Prices seem to be going up everywhere. My wife and I ate the turkey and dressing special. The turkey and dressing were fresh and delicious. My daughter had a hamburger steak and gravy. If you’re in Stephen’s City, give them a try.

I saw this today in a group that I am part of on Facebook. I decided to give it a try. When I asked if they served scrapple and when they said YES, I did not think twice.. I enjoy it here. Amanda my server is amazing her and I talked a lot, I enjoy the conversation and meaningful things we talked about. The Manager (I forgot her name, the lady with nice nails LOL) talked about our same experiences about Alaska.

I will give this place 10/10 because their food is amazing and I had an amazing time here. Its Friday morning and it wasn’t that busy maybe 3-5 customers and the place is really quiet, cozy and I love supporting local business!

Visited this diner at lunchtime on a Saturday. Place was full, few seats available. Can’t say if this is typical or not, just our experience. Waited a while to get a menu. After ordering waited an hour to receive food. Overall food was satisfactory/average. My order was wrong, missed one side item and charged me for two sides, but were included with entrees according to menu. Saw two people get up and leave after waiting for 15 minutes to order. Diner seems to be understaffed. Probably will not return to this place.

I’ve seen many bad reviews and it appears to have been former staff. But i can tell you I have been here 4 times now and the food has been great. The service is good. And it has the hometown feeling. Friendly patrons. Stop by and give them a try. Don’t believe everything you read. Try it for yourself.

This is a nice little country town diner. We stopped for breakfast while traveling. It’s a very clean place and cozy atmosphere. The service was fantastic, very friendly and on point! Even better was their food, huge omelettes and their sausage gravy is to die for. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely stop again!

The coffee and bacon were delicious!
The server was so rude, we didn’t feel very welcome AT ALL. The pancakes were so dry and tough they couldn’t be saved. Both my husband and I left most of them on the plate. It was unfortunate, the place only had 2 other people so they weren’t overwhelmed. I wish I could rate it higher.
