Impressively good chocolates. The shop is super cozy with delicious treats everywhere you look. Staff has always been helpful and attentive when I’ve gone.

For Valentine’s Day, I went to Newtown Chocolatier to pick up some chocolates, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience.
This is not just a place where you grab a random box of chocolates. You can actually choose each piece and create your own custom box. Standing at the counter and selecting chocolates felt almost like picking out jewelry. Each piece is beautifully crafted and displayed like a small work of art.
The staff were very friendly and patient as we took our time choosing. At about $3 per chocolate, it might feel a little indulgent, but it is absolutely worth it. In our case, we turned it into a little tradition. We brought the box home and tried one piece each day, enjoying the surprise of different flavors.
Life really is full of chocolate and surprises, and this place captures that perfectly.
If you enjoy high quality chocolate and a personalized experience, I highly recommend stopping by. It is not just buying chocolate. It is part tasting adventure, part gift, and part experience.

We have had a wine bottle dipped in chocolate and wrapped up a few different times at the Newtown Chocolatier. I went in today, so the owner could do it again for a host gift for Christmas. He said he was “too busy” and turned me away. He wouldn’t even tell me himself. I asked to speak with him and he wouldn’t come out. Coward. I will not be stepping foot in this place ever again. Who turns away business???

Chocolate was absolutely outstanding! The gentleman who helped me was awesome. I’m not sure if he was the owner, but once he learned that it was my first time in the shop, he gave me some luscious samples, and was very proud to share with me where the chocolate comes from and to show me around the store. I bought Easter gifts there and everybody has raved about the chocolate. Great place to bring a hostess gift and overall a very positive lovely experience.

Ive gotten chocolates here maybe a half dozen times. The quality of the chocolate itself is notably better than most chocolate shops. It’s clearly not just generic chocolate purchased in bulk and reformed. It’s incredibly rich and smooth, and it has no waxy texture to it.
The store front is a little on the small side, as are their options. I think I’ve only ever seen 1 coconut offering, and although still very good, it’s a little light on coconut. The PB cups threw me off at first, because the filling is kind of thin… on par with just straight peanut butter. But I’ve grown to really like them now, much more so than Reese’s. There are no sugar free options, which is unfortunate. I have to make a separate stop at another shop to get sugar free chocolate for my diabetic mother.
The ladies working the store seem a little standoffish at times, but they’ve always been kind to me. I’m a fairly large and perhaps menacing looking middle aged male, so maybe I just give off a vibe. I dont read too much into it, especially since they’re nice to me.
Unit pricing is a little high compared to similar stores, but the quality is superior. So I definitely think it’s worth it. I can comfortably even say it’s a better deal, all things considered. This is now my go-to chocolate shop.

We purchased chocolate bars to give to our guests following a reception we had for our son’s Baptism. We placed the order prior to the owners going on vacation and they went above and beyond to make sure we had the order on time (the day they came back from vacation). They really went out of their way, beyond our expectations, in getting the chocolate in our hands. Oh, and they were such a hit at the reception – guests of all ages were raving about them! Thank you so very much for the wonderful chocolate and excellent customer service!

Probably the only negative review I have left. The owner Doug couldn’t find a moment to ask me if I had questions, if I wanted something else, because he was too busy talking to someone he knew in line behind me. I would have bought more for other people but that was an awful experience. He didn’t care. Chocolates are usually good though.
