This was my families first time in Chef Newton’s restaurant. To say we were amazingly impressed would be an understatement. The food was outstanding. By far the best chicken fried steak we’ve ever had and the ribeye steak was incredible. The staff did a bang up job and the atmosphere made the whole experience feel like a homily little restaurant with lots of character. Chef Newton was great and even took a picture with us to include Master Chief Junior contestant Shane the train that also works in the kitchen. Chef Newton even recommended the type of Bourbon to use in the Smoky old fashioned drink that I ordered. Just a great experience overall. Now that my daughter will be attending Tarleton starting in the fall it will provide an opportunity for my wife and I to come up and visit her and eat at Newton’s Saddleback restaurant many times to come!!!

This was our 4th visit and again knocked our socks off!!! Undeniably the best filet I’ve ever had and consistently great every time. Cooked to perfection. The sides are equally incredible and super fresh. The service is top notch. The owners are amazing and very attentive. This is a place you get a high quality meal and an experience that will keep you coming back. Not only did we have dinner last night we just couldn’t get enough so we went back today for brunch. We live in the Dallas area and do not mind the 1.5-2 hour travel time to visit this place. If you’ve not been, you’re missing out!!!!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice dinner spot and we ended up at this restaurant. They were quite busy on a Friday night between the bar and the expansive dining area. The cocktails were delicious and while ordering we noted that every person that stepped through the door is graciously greeted by one of the two owners that make their presence known every night. The waitstaff and Chef Newton will try to accommodate every individual request, and the customer service we received was exceptional. (The owner and chef of the establishment will sit down and talk to you like he’s known you for years) making sure that every thing is prepared to your liking. Any issues can be brought to the attention of the staff and they seemed to go out of their way to accommodate guests. This is not fast food, it is a high quality restaurant ran by a couple that know what they are doing with years of culinary experience. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family!

We are very happy we tried out this new restaurant. Heard about it on the radio!! Thank you for the delicious food… and generous proportions. We had tomatoe campisis and dirty balls which were both very good. We had a delicious martini and special pasta dish. The pork chop was really good and a generous pour on the wine! We ended with carrot cake, moist and delicious and not too sweet.

Today we were able to enjoy a beautiful Easter Brunch with amazing food and outstanding service! This was my first visit and won’t be the last. The establishment is a very nicely done downtown cowboy chic renovation that is fine dining where anyone could be comfortable. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend adding the bourbon glazed carrot. Just one simple BIG carrot that is perfectly cooked and delightful. While all of the food was mouthwatering the service was the best. Not only were the servers on top of every detail but the chef even checked all the tables on the floor several times to make sure his guest were enjoying every aspect of their meal.

Come early for drinks! Try the Smoked Old fashioned for a beautiful presentation and a great taste. Then stay for a fabulous dinner. But first order a top rated wine from the cellar. Then jump into the food. In the end, you will have a great dining experience and come back for more….and more….and more.

Newton’s is a great addition to Stephenville. Cowboy Chef Newton is an amazing chef and the food, atmosphere and service are all excellent. A great place for a nice cocktail and apps as well, if you are just looking for a cool place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend this establishment!

I don’t usually write reviews, BUT I believed the hype on the Newton’s Saddlerack website. It doesn’t live up to the hype. I found this restaurant via Google search because I took my boyfriend to Hideaway Ranch & Refuge (AWESOME getaway weekend destination BTW) for his birthday and wanted to take him out for a nice dinner to celebrate.
