PO ordered a pork chop from the Senior menu. It was huge and tender (fried lightly). The portions were large. You won’t leave hungry. The service was great but the atmosphere could be a tad better.

Tucked in a side street this place had good hot food and a pleasant staff. It’s not a fancy place, it’s older but comfy. We got our food after people who came in a bit after us. Regulars I guess. Bothersome to be put second as a new customer.

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. Fantastic food and even more fantastic staff. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt like I knew everyone there! You will never need to ask for a refill of coffee as the owner comes around regularly to fill you up and to make sure you are happy. If you ever need a place to come and get some great food while being treated like family look no further than the Newport Family Restaurant!

Although the restaurant itself is not much to look at, the food is really good! The staff is really friendly too. It’s worth a try if you are in the area. They take Google Pay.

Went here for the first time today. Everyone was VERY friendly and the food was great! We had to wait about 40 minutes for our food, but other than that…everything was fantastic.

Nice place to sit down and enjoy a good hot meal. Down home feeling that’s clean and neat. It small but seats quite a bit. Lots of parking with a handycap entrance.

Excellent culinary delights , whomever cooks is a chef ..for a tiny inconspicuous little restaurant the food is to die for everything is fresh seasoned to perfection ,no greasy spoon , ..reasonably priced ..the staff are wonderful courteous ..not fancy dining but well worth a stop .very clean .something for everyone

I really enjoyed this place for dinner. I come here often for breakfast and it’s always pretty good. I love the service. The staff are nice and pleasant. It’s a place that kind of looks small and divey but I enjoy that type of ambiance.
Just take note if you want chips with your burger you can’t order fries. Because they up charge 3.50. Even if you order a side of fries because you want the chips they won’t give it to you. I thinks that’s incredibly strange since you pay full price for a side.

The service at Newport Family Restaurant is top notch. Fast, efficient and friendly. The food I received was totally unrecognizable as the chicken croquettes with homemade filling and gravy. The croquettes seemed to be just fried balls of dough. Absolutely no chicymeat was discernable – not even ground chicken. The homemade stuffing was a flat fried piece of bread with some herb and vegetable flakes over it. Even Stove Top is 100 percent better. The gravy was tasty but obviouzly from a jar/can. Seafood chowder was very thick almost like pudding but was flavorful. When the waitress ask how our food was our reply was “barely eatable”. She said they never had any complaints. I guess if you stick to burgers and fries or breakfast food you might actually get an enjoyable meal. I loved this restaurant 10 years ago. It’s a shame the quality of the food has gotten so bad
