Newks is one of my favorite lunch places when I’m in Birmingham. The menu has widely variable choices – salads, soups, sandwiches, pizza – and combos offering multiple choices of soup and salad, soup and sandwiches, etc. The deserts are great, too, and packaged where you can take them with you when you realize “your eyes were bigger than your stomach” and you don’t have room for the dessert! I’ve eaten at all three Birmingham locations and the food and atmosphere are consistently good in all. We had lunch today at the Hoover location, my favorite location. The restaurant and restrooms are always clean. I love the big Newks cups, too, and their iced tea is the best.

I’ve never been to a Newk’s Eatery but my son (who lives in the area) suggested it. There are lots of options, from salads, pizza, sandwiches, soups and so on. You order at the counter, make your own drinks and they’ll bring the food to your table. I didn’t get a photo, but there is a pretty big outdoor patio to sit at that seemed to be very popular on the day we went.
They hand half and full size salads. (See photo for comparison in size) I got the full Greek salad with Greek dressing. It was very delicious! I noticed they had tossed it in the dressing before serving it. My Mom ordered a salad as well but requested her dressing on the side. So for anyone that doesn’t want it pre-tossed in the dressing, I recommend specifying to put on the side. Another person in our party ordered a half salad and about 1/4 of the salad was all croutons.
I enjoyed my visit here and would definitely go back!

This is NOW my FAVORITE NEWK’s!!! The food was hot and fresh and delicious!!! Kara is definitely the BEST staff member, as she’s courteous, professional, and made really yummy recommendations for us to eat!! We enjoyed the new grilled steak sandwich, made Kara’s way, and we definitely recommend you visit this location! Didn’t know what to expect from this fast-casual chain, but were pleasantly surprised! Nice bistro-like atmosphere, with open kitchen and a covered patio. Was busy on a Saturday around noon, but not packed, and our food was ready very quickly.
Ordered the Newk Q and Barrbecue Chicken pizzas with mac and cheese as sides, and a slice of strawberry cake for dessert. Pizzas were great, with a thin crust remimiscent of flatbread. Macaroni was good, but nothing special (creamy white sauce with melted cheese on top), and the cake was excellent. Need to try the sandwiches and salads next time!

We frequent the Hoover Newk’s location. As usual, we got the same friendly quick service that we’ve come to expect. I came in with my husband after a medical procedure and Stacy went above and beyond by helping me get the hubby seated. She then went and got his drink. We were checked on to make sure we didn’t need anything. Stacy also helped us with the door as we left. This type of service isn’t the norm from a restaurant these days. However, this is only one of the many reasons we have been eating at Newk’s (various locations) for years.

I have not been to a Place to eat where I felt the Need/ almost urgency to write a review Ever! I met my brother for a late lunch. I live in Sylacauga. From taking our order, to just an over-all good feeling about the place, I had to tell y’all about Newks. Great food!! I had a Sandwich. The Q. – Bacon chicken, white sauce on a killer fresh baguette. It came with a side. I chose pasta salad. Good! My brother ordered the Ultimate salad. Huge and ample. Lots of meat. I ordered a Q pizza to take home and ordered a piece of strawberry cake. Got a piece of mint chocolate cake free. (Special deal I guess) The food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious as my brothers salad was chilled and also yummy. Later this evening I had some pizza and strawberry cake. Again, yum! The Manager (Randall) was very proud of his Restaurant. As he should be! The pride he has for his Restaurant is also instilled in the rest of the staff. I have been in food and Beverage most of my life. Normally, I’m criticizing and tearing places apart. Because they set themselves up for it. It’s to easy to not be negative usually…. But Not this fine establishment! My first experience eating there far exceeded what I had hoped it was going to be. . Today was an absolutely beautiful day in central Alabama. We sat out on the patio and it was perfect. 70*! And felt warmer in the sun ☀️

The pairings meals are nice to get because of the variety. I got the pizza and salad. The salad was fresh and delicious. The pizza was amazing! I love the thin crust. Service was great!

All of my food was great. However they are now offering a new item and that is a cake slice called peanut butter and chocolate which sounded wonderful until I started eating it and it was so dry crumbly dry. I was so disappointed. The price was 6.49 per slice and it was wasted.
