Went Saturday evening for dinner, seated right away, had a window seat on the water, had prompt friendly service, ordered a bowl of thick Chowder, was served nice and hot, thick and creamy. Potatoes and nice chunks of clam, delicious. Also shared a plate of onion rings, fresh large rings with a light batter, could have eaten the entire plate, too bad we were sharing. Ordered a clam roll plate was overloaded with clams, a bun was served with it. Bater was light and definitely would order again, not cheap 32.00 but would recommend. Also had an order of Calamari, small order and there was plenty, was cooked perfectly and had marinara sauce. Lastly we had haddock bites and scallops with hand made chips, again batter nice and light and served piping hot like it should be.
Nice being on the water watching the boats go by. They also sell lobster and have an ice cream window for after dinner. definitely recommended and will be coming back next time we’re in town.

Not only was it our first time eating here, but it’s our first time eating at a seafood restaurant since moving to New Hampshire. I have to say compared to Florida’s seafood there is no comparison Florida’s seafood always seems to have a dirt after taste. This seafood was so fresh and delicious. Ordered clam strip dinner with a 1lb lobster on the side, our son got 1lb lobster dinner, and the wife got marinated steak tip dinner. All around great experience with amazing food and conversation overlooking a beautiful lake. Definitely recommend stopping by and trying it yourself. I know I will be back

One of the draws of this place was the nostalgia. Replacing the lobster tanks with a modern shiny tile front area makes it feel as if the front is disconnected from the back. There is still some nostalgia, paper plates, tables, and seating from the 1960s are still firmly in place. There was no wait, plenty of seating, and they could accommodate a large group without issue. The chicken tenders were the same as always. Consistent over the years, made fresh and not frozen. The onion rings are described as lightly fried, which is completely accurate, with that being said lightly fried translates to not very crispy but they did not last long at the table. The fried pickles were chips, had a good pickle flavor, and a good balance of breading vs pickle. The coconut shrimp were large, but had no coconut flavor. The oven baked scallops were overcooked. The haddock
Filet was massive. They do have large portions. Everything costs more, but I was surprised at the $30-40 per person for paper plates and plastic silverware.

On a family road trip I want lobster so we stop. The place was really big. Its definitely has the lobster shack feel. You can beat the kids meals

Went here with a huge crowd of friends. This ginormous place seated us all quickly. They quickly set us up with drinks and appetizers. The calamari was top 2-3 I’ve had anywhere.

First time for me trying:
-steamers: sandy but interesting. Just wash them a couple times.
-whole lobster: once a local explained it, no problem to shuck it. Tasted great, not much meat.

A great experience (the company paid) and I would go again if I travel back to the area.

The fish chowder I had today only had one little chunk of fish in it, and the rest was potatoes. the people next to me, complained that their food was awful and that they won’t go back to the restaurant again and then the other couple siting across from me said their oysters where runny and thin and didn’t want to complain. This place is really gone downhill in quality. So many other options in the area. Such a letdown.

Stopped on the way back to NYC, heard their lobster roll was the best. The clam chowder was okay, lobster roll pretty good, but overall the fried seafood was the favorite.

Newick’s is an institution. This is the place for your annual whole lobster. The space is vast and not much changed so you get a good dose of nostalgia. Don’t expect fussy presentations and precious portions – it’s heaps for size and paper plates. There are some post Covid upgrades – they added a large bar area which is where we always sit. There’s a nice collection of regulars at the bar on taco/ margarita Tuesday. Its a good venue for family gatherings, association meetings and large groups – casual and easy going. I try not to eat a lot of fried food, but that’s the specialty here – smelts being my favorite, and the home made potato chips are amazing – dip them in blue cheese dressing. Onion rings are great and typically massive. On the healthy side, I often get the steamers. They have a big selection of liquor now and an entire room of ice cream. For dessert, we’ve taken to getting a dish of ice cream and ordering a cordial or other tasty distilled beverage to pour over it. The staff is dedicated, fun and kind, some have been there for decades like their customers. If you’re passing through the area it’s an iconic New England experience.

This place is an old school seafood restaurant. You can tell it was the place to be in it’s day. The food was great. The views were also great!
