My favorite dish was the big plate chicken with Wide Noodles! This was a good restaurant all in all!
The lamb burger was my favorite. The lamb was juicy and well-seasoned, and the bread was crispy outside but soft inside. Would definitely come back just for that.
You can really tell the care that goes into the cooking — it tastes just like traditional Chinese noodle dishes. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for real, well-made noodles.
If you expecting typical heavy sauce chinese american food dont go here – the sauces here are more light and more aromatic vs the more pungent heavy sauces from chinese american food (a lot of it is based more from central and southern chinese food).
Their noodle soups with beef broth is good but isn’t my go to because just like Dunhuang they use too much MSG in their both. Just takes away from the natural flavors of the beef and other ingredients.
I usually get the pulled spicy cumin noodles with lamb with wide noodles. The noodles have a nice chew / texture and pair perfectly with lamb, cumin cilantro oil sauce. Its not heavy in sauce or meat – it really focuses on the noodles. This dish is a 5/5 just wish there were 3 levels of spice to choose from. Its a little too spicy for someone who can handle moderate spice.
The lamb burger is perfect. Juicy lamb that isnt too dry, flavored well and isnt too spicy. The bread has sesame seeds and is flavorful, cooked well – texture and thickness is something between a pita bread and stromboli.
I like ordering a side of beef soup to go with this so i can dip the noodles and burger in. Also a side of cucumber salad to cool off – its kind of akin to eating a pickle in american cuisine.
As far as some reviews that say bad service or forcing to tip – I didn’t expect any of that. I saw many non ethnic asian people in this restaurant and everyone seemed to enjoy this experience.
4.5 Food – Just wish i could change the spice level
5 – service – attentive and food came out fast
5 – atmosphere – clean, small place
5 – value – good portions that will fill you up. Spent $50 for two people before tip no drinks
I recommend this place 100% and also over dunhuang – everything is better here except the noodle soup which is about the same. PLEASE DONT CLOSE LIKE THE PHO PLACE BEFORE IT as that place was my favorite pho place in central jersey
