We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking down the street, not knowing what kind of food it served. To get there, we had to pass by several closed shops that looked under construction or even abandoned. At first, we wondered if the restaurant was really open—it felt a bit shady, and we were skeptical. But that impression was entirely due to the surroundings, not the restaurant itself.
Once inside, it looked inviting, and we decided to try the curry, fried rice, and naan. To our surprise, everything was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I hadn’t done any research beforehand, so I had no expectations—but the food exceeded them all. The prices were very reasonable too.
The most wonderful part of the experience was the kindness of the owner. When we asked him to call a taxi, he actually ran outside to hail one for us. That thoughtful gesture left us so grateful and made the visit even more memorable.

Go here if you want to be disappointed. The food itself is decent but the wait for the food was horrendous. They were out of several things on the menu. We waited 50 minutes to find out our orders were messed up and they were out of some of the dishes we had ordered. Service is super slow. Food and drinks came 1 at a time it was like a tease. Make sure to double check your bill because we were charged for things that we didn’t get. Would not recommend unless you have 2-3 hours to wait.

This was our second trip to Saint Martin, and returning to Newa Chopstix was high on our list. We first visited about a year and a half ago, and today marked our fourth meal here. Honestly, the incredible food at Newa was one of the reasons we chose to come back to the island.
The food is consistently outstanding—an easy 5/5. But beyond the dishes themselves, dining at Newa is an experience. The open verandah, the lighting, the music… it all has the charm of a small-town India celebration or a wedding venue. It feels warm, lively, and special.
The owner and staff are wonderful. They’re attentive, kind, and always accommodating with dietary restrictions. Everything—from the plates and napkins to the overall atmosphere—is kept impeccably clean and well-organized.
I highly, wholeheartedly recommend Newa Chopstix.

Music selections blast trendy India hits, and a huge outdoor space, hints at a big party spot when the sun goes down. Lights, lights, and more lights, give the familiar Mumbai party atmosphere, including custom crafted LEDs on the ceiling of the interior.

This place reminds me of my home food. The food tastes amazing and the owners were very friendly. We went first time to dine in the we enjoyed so much we ended up ordering to our accommodation and the owner delivered it himself.

Soo crazy story! My family and I tried to go on this trailhead but our car got stuck and we were in a lot of trouble, this is when the owner (I believe) lived by our car and was able to safely move our car without it going off of the side of the road! We were so thankful and soo hungry as well and we mentioned his restaurant and we immediately went there. We got there and the staff was very nice and it only got better because the food was the best south Asian food on the island! No joke! Thank you and everyone should definitely check this place out because the food itself was Devine.

Don’t be fooled by what you see outside (lights from the 70s and somewhat hidden entrance), looks can be deceiving. The food and service was really good, we had the peanut “salad”, gobi Manchurian and Szechuan noodles. We were happy with the quality for the food, quite frankly surprised to find good Indian food on the island! Lots of vegetarian options as well.
