I ordered takeout from NEWA. The food was excellent! The paneer tikka masala was super good. We ordered the spicy, and were humbled but honestly that’s what you’re looking for from an Indian/nepalese restaurant. The vegetable momos were unlike any momos I’ve had before but were super flavorful, with great texture & came with a punchy dipping sauce. Definitely have to order from them again!!

Veg momos were great. The achar sauce was especially good. Aloo saag was also good. Recommend delivery as the location in Tenderloin is not one you want to visit

“I recently ordered from Newa through Uber Eats, and it was a fantastic experience. I tried the Chicken Momo and Chicken Saag, and both dishes exceeded my expectations.
The Chicken Momo was absolutely delicious—juicy with the perfect balance of spices. The dough was soft and held up well even after delivery, which is often a challenge.
The Chicken Saag was creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The chicken pieces were tender and cooked to perfection. Despite being a delivery order, the quality and freshness of the food were excellent.

For the price it’s going to be hard to find any Indian or Nepali food this delicious *anywhere*, let alone San Francisco.

The service is quick and friendly. The man at the register was pleased with our choices but made suggestions, as well.

Be sure to order the Samosa Chat; incredibly tasty!

If you want something different than the usual Indian fare, order from the Nepali menu.

We tried the Newari Khaja which was a Nepali thali of sorts; I definitely recommend it, but be sure to order something saucy as well. Between the beaten rice and the ultra-crisp fried meat it can get pretty dry without some sauce.

You can probably dine in for lunch, but beware that the seating is very limited for busier hours, and it’s not the nicest neighborhood. Otherwise take-out or delivery are great options, too.

Great Nepale and Indian food.
I would recommand the vegetarian momos which are served with this amazing spicy sauce. Almost as good as the ones served in Kathmandu.

So good I went back the next day during a work trip. The usual suspects for a Nepalese restaurant are delicious. But, so is the chicken chow mein. Far surpassed some of the others recommended the ethnic restaurants in the area. Go.

This is a small restaurant with different flavored Nepalese food in the heart of Down-town San Francisco. we had chicken momos for the appetizers which was very tasty. Chowmeen was not that flavored as we expected. But to cover it up, we had some typical Nepalese foods that tasted very flavored-full.
The restaurant’s atmosphere was not that great it may be because we saw a lot of homeless people walking outside and staring from the door and windows. We were awkward with the situation. At the end the price tag and with the food quality absolutely fair. You can visit here for the typical Nepalese food.
