Two members of our party ordered 12″ pizzas, two ordered the child-size Fettuccine Alfredo, and I elected the Penne Arabiatta. I also ordered a pepperoni pinwheel and garlic cheese bread to share.
It probably took around 20 minutes for our food to come out, but that was understandable since all of our dishes were made to order. If you are in a hurry, there is a glass case with several pre-made items that can be heated in just a few minutes.
Everyone at the table really enjoyed their food – even those who are often critical, especially when trying a new place. Several comments were made about the creaminess of the Alfredo and the fresh flavor of the pizzas.
My Penne Arabiatta was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the marinara sauce had the perfect amount of heat and spice. The garlic cheese bread was also very good. The only letdown was the pepperoni pinwheel – it was way overcooked, tough and hard.
The general consensus from the family was a “thumbs up” and comments of “we need to come back here soon”. I’m glad to know that we have a local pizza and pasta restaurant that has good food for a reasonable price and is not owned by some corporate conglomerate pushing out mass produced mediocrity. Go give NYP&P a try.
The plain white sauce pizza w ricotta and added pepperoni was fine. Nothing to complain about
My 6 year old had to pee like a race horse so we asked for the restroom. It’s apparently outside like a gas station. However it was very clean with a changing table. It was pretty dark but my son was happy that there were no spiders.
I don’t know if I’ll be back. Nothing negative other than the sketchy raw pizza sitting out on the counter all day. I don’t understand how that concept works, but if they don’t get people sick, no harm—no foul. Good for them. The pasta looked good when others got it. I’ll order penne next time.
I’ll start off that I love New York style pizza. Large thin slice with crisp bottom and airy crust.
As we walked in we noticed this was an older building that had had previos restaurants in it so I will give the decor and building some lead way.
They serve pizza by the slice and other options. But the choices on the counter were already dry and un-appetizing in appearance.
We opted for a specialty Alfredo pizza just because my wife loves Alfredo. It was just the two of us so we chose a 12 “ medium pizza.
We grabbed a table number and a booth. After about 20 mins, they called our number at the counter. I was presented with a pizza in a box and two paper plates. Plastic silverware was also on the counter.
Just a side note, if I am dining in, I prefer my pizza, NOT in a box and a plate and real cutlery.
Pizza was piping hot with a moderate amount of grease. Toppings were minimal and sparse. Now for a New York style, I expected a crisp bottom and airy crust. The crust was thick and doughy. The bottom was “hard”, not crisp and I could not cut it with my plastic fork.
I can’t say this for certain but it appears that they took a large dough ball and made a medium. Because the larges, that I saw on the counter did not have as thick a crust.
Alfredo sauce had a great taste and smooth consistency. The pepperoni was well cooked and crispy.
The gluten structure in the crust was well developed but I feel that there was so much dough on the crust that it could not “puff” as a New York crust should.
It wasn’t bad, and I would eat there again. But I wouldn’t go out if my way to drive there just to eat there. This would be good take out pizza to order for the kids or a night watching football.
But please, ditch the paper and disposable products for dine in customers. It would have been a much better experience. Paper is great for a slice, but not a family sitting down to dine in. This alone took them from a 4 to 3 stars.
They are new and just getting started, I suggest you give them a try. I would rather support a local business versus a franchise pizza place.
I got a supreme pizza. The toppings were mostly on one half of the pizza instead of all over, so about half the pizza was a cheese pizza. My girlfriend got the Chicken Cremora. It had absolutely no taste. She ended up having to season it at home because it was so bland.
When we placed the order over the phone, they let us know it would be about an hour before it was ready (which was no problem). However, waiting an hour and then the food being bad is unacceptable.
