I walked in here with the bar set on the floor.
First look didn’t help. It’s a floppy mess. The tip touched my wrist, zero structural integrity. The grease? You could lube a ’98 Honda Civic with the oil on this slice.
BUT… the sauce actually has a nice tang to it, good sweetness. And just when I was ready to write it off, the crust comes in at the end with a decent crunch. It’s not a total loss.
It’s still a mess in the middle. Absolute mud-butt city. But the sauce and that end crust save it from the trash can. It’s a standard football pizza. If you live upstairs, you’re eating it. If you’re two towns over, you’re not driving for this.
6.1. That’s a review.
The price threw us off a bit though, with $6 just for a plain cheese, and $1 for any additional topping. Their speciality pizzas were $10 per slice, which seemed like a lot. We stuck to slices with 1 topping for each of us, which was good but maybe not worth the price
There were plenty of indoors seats when I visited on a Saturday night (-11:00 PM). There is also an outdoor table if preferred. Their online menu seems to have more options than their in-person menu, so be sure to take a look (or make your own).
Overall, a good spot for takeout with some unique toppings. I’d swing by again to mix and match even more.
The look: ….Authentic. As in, a little rundown and could use a little added paint. It captures the bizarre nature of now york through bizarre choice of artwork.
The service: ….authentic. As in, a little underwhelming yet hospitable. Exactly what you want and find in NYC. Dont look into this too much the staff is great.
The food: unlike the negative reviews…. I found my pizza stacked with toppings, perfectly sauced, and the crispy thing crust is unlike anything I have found in New York. Nevertheless, it was next level. It was floppy like your find in the city but had a unique crispness that made it that much better.
Overall for a snack or meal under $10 this is a great place to start your food journey in Almeda CA.
Party size pizza is sufficient for 4-6 people.
Garlic Bread came like a little pizza which was really tasty.
Tips: try some extra twists like their olive oil, Mayonnaise on top.
