Visiting my mom back in the town where I grew up, getting pizza has always been one of our traditions. Sadly, our longtime go-to spot (open nearly 40 years!) has closed, so this trip we decided to try New York Pizza in Stanardsville.
We ordered two small side salads, breaded mushrooms, and a supreme pizza. Calling it in on a Monday night came with about a 25-minute wait — completely reasonable. The salads were fresh and very generously portioned. I chose the blue cheese dressing, and it definitely tasted homemade. The breaded mushrooms were cooked perfectly — a nice addition, even if fairly standard for a pizzeria.
The pizza itself was very tasty and cooked just the way we like it. True New York-style with a nice crisp and a good amount of toppings.
Overall, a really good experience. If you’re looking for a dine-in atmosphere, this might not be your first choice. While there is some seating, it definitely has more of a call-ahead, pick-up, and take-home vibe. That said, for a small town, it’s a great option — especially if you’re visiting Greene County or just passing through

Usually this place isn’t bad for the area we live in and I do appreciate the delivery being available. The drivers are great with communication and I have no complaints there however tonight my pizza was barely edible and I had to scrape off the large sludges of ricotta so thick that it gave an unpleasant texture. Here’s a photo for reference. I ordered the white pizza and for the first time I am extremely disappointed and hope this was an off night. Didn’t call to complain due to not wanting to force a driver to come back out so late.

I came here with my eight-year-old niece for lunch and we both loved the pizza, she especially loved how crispy the crust was. The food came out so incredibly fast and we told the owner how wonderful it was. He was the sweetest and brought my niece a delicious dessert, which she absolutely loved. It was a wonderful lesson in kindness and made our day.

Its mid for the area so i understand the reviews from pensioners. After asking for my pizza to be cooked extra, i just had the dougy-est undercooked pizza ever. Need better quality control. Sadly the toppings and sauce have a good season. (The cheese and dough are lacking in this department). Mozarella sticks seem prepackaged. I had high hopes for a NY pizza place. EDIT: the store reached out and offered a refund for the error, it cleared a week later

First time at NY Pizza. My husband and I have been looking for a pizza lunch spot for a while now. I am from the Philadelphia area and I am very picky about my pizza. Let me tell you. This place is fantastic. The crispy crust on the pizza and sauce to cheese ration is spot on!
We also had a pizza steak and pizza fries. So so good.
Also, the owner and cashier were both so personable. Checked on us to make sure we were ok a few times as well!
If you haven’t been there, check it out. Found out they deliver as well!!

This was our first time ordering food from this business, but it won’t be our last time. They were very busy but we’re worth the wait. The pizza and pizza roll we ordered was delicious. Great portions at a fair price. The staff did a great job getting our food to us in a timely manner. I would recommend everyone to try the food choices the next time you’re craving pizza. Thank you for preparing a great meal.

Here’s the story on how we ended up ordering here for dinner last night.
We were really craving pizza. I go to Google, search “Pizza near me”. This place was number 2 on the list.. I’ve never had this place be suggested before,. I’ve never heard nor seen of this place being in Stanardsville, but I was intrigued as I Love a good New York style pizza; it’s my favorite style.
I Look at the menu, already noticing the reasonable Prices, compared to some of those around that area and in Cville. I was like okay, the prices reeled me in already.
I ordered us a XL Cheese Pizza ($13) and a order of Mozzarella Sricks (6 sticks for $5).
BEST descion on us was Ordering from here!!
When I tell you the Smell Alone from this Pizza once I got it to the Truck had me salivating
Not only did this beautiful aroma of this Pizza Smell SO Flavorful and Amazing, I couldn’t wait driving back 25 mins to the house to try it.. I had to taste it right then. I grabbed a Piping hot Slice, and Brother!!! The flavors! The cheese, the sauce- MMM! Both so flavorful and delicious!
We are Pizza connoisseur (if you will lol), so we’ve tried our fair share of NY style pizzas from alot of places.. and dare I say this Pizza place is the BEST we have tried!
We aren’t even saucy people we typically ask for light sauce– we didn’t here, we wanted to try the pizza as it comes. Their sauce has such great flavor, we didn’t even mind the amount on the pizza. I think we found our new Local GO TO Pizza spot!
Also, even though it was a very short interaction, from what I saw, the staff was GREAT– Very Friendly, Smiley, and Nice!
Over all, We WILL be returning! And I would recommend anyone who likes GOOD pizza Give this place a shot! I know I was sure Happy about my experience.

I had lunch with one of my sons here. He got a Philly cheesteak and I ordered lasagna. We each ate half of each other’s meal. Both were very good. The staff was very friendly and the food arrived quickly.

This place just opened in our little town. It is the best place to go for food. You can eat in or take out. Fast, friendly people. And the new look is great. They have tables in the there to fit any order. Or if you want a quick meal. Not just pizza.
