This place is classic. We grabbed two bagels to go, the bagels were soft and tasty. Atmosphere is on point for NY style bagel place and it’s very reasonably priced.

Lots of space was pretty busy when my Wife and I came in. The only problem was that the lady who took our order was pretty pushy. My wife decided she did not want a drink because of the order takers language. The coffee was delicious, and their bagels look absolutely amazing!

Only getting two stars since the bagels were really good… I don’t like getting yelled at though so I don’t think I’ll be returning! I explained to Cheryl Doyle that it was my first time at the place, and I didn’t even get a “welcome!” or “Hello!” She proceeded to rush me through the order assuming I knew how they operate, even though they were out of most bagels by 10:30am on a Friday when they close at 1pm. She yelled at me about the cream cheese and how she didn’t know if I was taking it home or what I was doing with it. I said, yeah I’m taking it home, what does that matter? She proceeded to charge me for a HUGE tub of cream cheese for my two little bagels, only finding this out when I got home from the store and looked at the receipt. I could have been fine with the smaller container for sure, totally unnecessary! I also heard her tell the guy behind me that they toast the bagels unless asked not to, so I thought “cool!” But my bagels were not sliced nor toasted. I would recommend firing her, but it seems from the other reviews that she may be the owner… Anyways, if you want great bagels without the bad vibes, check out Moe’s Broadway Bagels (NY style) downtown Denver or in Boulder! Great bagels without the attitude! And no, I don’t work for them in any way, just a happy customer of theirs.

I am not sure what others are saying about these being “authentic” NY bagels. They are big and fat, but both the interior and exterior texture is not quite right. Good bagels have a slightly crunchy exterior with a unique chewy interior. These are more like a heavy bread on the inside, not what I’ve had in NYC, or other better places in Denver. (Like Einstein’s.) Having said that, their sandwiches are full of fresh ingredients and I’ve never had to wait long. I know the person other reviewers are referring to, but never seen her bad behavior. The interior of the place is in need of a refresh, but not terrible. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could, but it’s not quite up to a 4 star for me.

I’d give this review a zero but the bagel was good so that would give the single star some value. I have an emotional support animal and understand that not all restaurants don’t allow them inside. Instead of politely asking me to wait with my dog outside the owner was incredibly rude and demanded proof of documentation that my pet was an ESA. I told her how its against the law to ask for proof, but she responded with “I worked for the airlines I can ask”. For people who are unaware the only entities allowed to ask for proof of documentation in this matter are housing authorities and airline companies. My roommate ordered for me as I waited outside and when I told this woman who was also the owner how much trouble she could get in she said “no I can’t I’m a lawyer.” I’m convinced she lied about that, but any half decent attorney would know the laws about service/emotional support animals. A shame the food was so good, but this woman who’s rude to customers, breaks the law and is clearly abusive to her staff will not be getting my business ever again.

I would advise others not to add avocado. I am more than happy to pay extra to for avocado, however when you charge $1.25 but only add 1/8 of an avocado it creates an issue.

I must have run into the notoriously horrible manager when I was here for the first time today. After waiting in line for over half an hour, I finally get to order and she tone policed how I said my order to her. I said “avocado instead of cream cheese” as this is a bagel shop and cream cheese is the default, and she said verbatim, “that’s not how you ask for that. You just say avocado, don’t say anything about cream cheese. It’s understood what you mean.” And I was said, “no I don’t think that’s accurate, I’m just making myself clear” and she went back and forth about my ability to articulate and I ended up saying, “whatever, this really doesn’t matter when there’s 20 people behind me in line.” She also yelled at the elderly man standing behind me while I was ordering about getting his items off the counter while she was taking my order. It’s a large counter, and he was not in my way or her way whatsoever. She then yelled at a third customer to put the milk carafe back in the coffee bar area (there really is no coffee bar in this establishment) when he was standing there waiting for it to be refilled.

Love their bagels but every time I go in there the older lady that works there is always complaining about something, I’m sorry I just don’t like to start my day off with such negative energy. I use to stop a couple times a week but now I go once every couple months. It’s a good reminder to never underestimate the power of a smile!
