Caught this place while walking to find some food in the area seemed like a pretty cool place but the people we had with us were hungry and it didn’t seem like this place was serving food at the time so we decided to go to Bobcat Bonnie’s right down the street to grab a bite and a few drinks. We stopped by for lunch during the Woodward Dream Cruise and shared the New Way Burger and Cajun Fries.
The burger here is really tasty, and the fries are crisp and spiced just right.
Jessica, our bartendress, was attentive and very professional.
One of the TVs was displaying a roof cam view of the Cruise so that you could still enjoy the action as you enjoyed your lunch.
I’ve been here several times now, and there always seems to be something going on such as open mic night or karaoke.
This is turning into one of my favorite places to hang out.

I came out here to check the place out have not been here in a while. One thing I immediately noticed is they were doing open mic comedy. It was the 4th of July weekend so I figured I’d check it out. The only thing that I think they could do a little better is if people sign up to perform they should be able to perform around the time that they sign up. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work that way because there are more recognized Comics that can cut ahead in line. From a professional standpoint and also from a Time standpoint that doesn’t work. Number one reason is let’s say you come in there early and you sign up you shouldn’t have to wait almost 4 hours to perform. It’s not professional and it is not fair. At the end of the day people’s time is precious and my wife and I were not happy with how things went. May come back to see how things go in the future may not. But if I would change one thing it would be when someone signs up you put them on in a timely fashion and don’t skip them. Otherwise it was a very good experience food-wise and the bartender was working by himself for the majority of the time we were there and he did an excellent job!

The place is a whole vibe. Standup comedy on Mondays. Ski ball, billiards. The chicken and fries are good. I miss the patio. They used to have N64 & NES on free play but idk if they still do, no one used it this time. Gets very dude-centric sometimes. They played RuPauls Drag race at the bar, it was the Betsey Johnson episode. It’s cool when your friends are bored.

I really like the bar I like the staff the issue is trying to make friends there and becomes a bunch of people taking my cigarettes my. Smoke asking me constantly to buy them drinks or wanting my left over drink and constantly asking me to fund eveything I am a single mom I went out to barely afford myself and to be sure to tip accordingly going here the patrons not all but a good chunk make me broke I can’t afford it and it makes going out not fun and I’m not going here anymore not cuz of the bar cuz of the customers they let in to suck people dry to support them and thier addictions I can’t afford it I’m not coming back I shouldn’t have to fight with people for all my resources it’s a bad time

Absolutely loved New Way Bar! It’s clean, cozy, and great whether you’re looking to have a deep convo or just relax with some TV. The bartender was fantastic—super personable and on point with drinks. They also have pool and ski ball, which added a fun vibe to place. Highly recommend.

New way bar was super cool. My first time there was during Ferndale Fever and the bar was alive and rocking! Many acts came in and performed for a good sized energetic crowd! The decor and vibe of this place is great! It’s right on Woodward close to many other bars in Ferndale. This place is a great spot!
