New State Burgers is easily my new favorite spot when I’m craving a great burger and a beer in the Plaza District. As someone with a very high standard for hickory burgers, I can say their Western Bacon Burger absolutely nails it. The sauce and the char are perfection! The service is just as good as the food; Ricardo behind the bar was incredibly attentive and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Delicious! We have a surplus of delicious burgers in OKC, so I don’t know if I’m brave enough to say New State has the best burgers, but they should definitely be in the conversation! Their standard “New State Cheeseburger” is great and their Theta is a wonderful take on the classic.
Their beer cheese is very flavorful and we always make sure to get some cheese fries or the pretzel to take advantage.
Favorite spot in the Plaza for sure! Only negative is it has been pretty warm inside during the summer months, so be prepared!

First time here today. Ordered online. Pick up was easy. (Inside is a quaint bar atmosphere). After a 20 min drive back to the office my burger was still hot & quite delicious. Gluten free bun held up very well! Fries were on point. And, these “BACON LARDONS” are everything you need on a burger! TRUST ME. The chopped pickles add a nice touch too. I’ll be back for sure! It was a bit pricey but I’ve grown accustomed to that with the gluten free journey. Thanks for a good burger!!

Very chill atmosphere. Servers were very attentive. We had a pretzel which was the best hot pretzel I’ve had. I would come back just for that. We also split a new state burger and new state fries. The burger and fries were very good, but the pretzel was definitely the star.

Lots of good reviews however this is not one of them. Not that it wasn’t a bad burger I think it was just mediocre. There are several other places I would recommend. To me the thin patties were over cooked, so it was a dry burger. The fries should have came with the meal not as an add on. The fries were cooked like we wanted – crispy! Which was great however, they were over seasoned. If you’re going to try this place out and you don’t mind heavy seasoning be my guest! If not request no seasoning and add your own.
I love blue cheese on a burger but unfortunately that is not an option. As a matter of fact the cheese section is pretty limited! Your options are American or shredded – no blue cheese, no pepper jack, no provolone, no Swiss, no cheddar.
We went after the lunch rush and the inside seating is limited. However, there were two tables free so we sat down immediately.
Service was good so no complaints there but overall just not my style or place for grabbing a burger.

Husband heard about this place on the radio, thought we would give it a try! Glad we did! So good! Very friendly, helpful! Food was excellent, ordered a Cape Cod which was good! Loved the in house made cheese sauce! Loved the pickles and onions chopped on burgers! Loved the Brussel Sprouts!! Will be back! Parking could be better, only a few spots in front,had to park across street and pay 2$ walk over a few blocks

The food was amazing, I had the Mexico Burger and I ordered it medium and I got medium and the burger was cooked to perfection. Afterward I ordered the Brooklyn Blackout shake and boy let me tell you, that shake was amazing it almost took me out but a finished it, a must try. The service was also great our waiter Lalo if that how you spell his name, but he was great, he greeted us with a warm smile and talked with us and he told us what you recommended and we took his advice and everything was just like he said, they was good. Black Tap is a spot that will always return to and recommend to everyone who wants something good to eat and great service.

New State has the goods, everything is chef curated, tested, and tasted. New State pretty much nails everything they put on the menu.
The New State Cheeseburger is the way to go if it’s your first time visiting. Double patties, cheese, house-made Dijonnaise, and the ingenious diced pickles and red onions. You get a crunch in every bite, it’s sublime!
The buns are always fresh and toasted on the bottoms, the patties are always fresh, hot and the melty cheese perfectly sandwiched between!
Also, their “standard” fries are anything but standard, think fancy truffle fries without the truffle oil. You can’t go wrong with the cheese fries or cheese tots either.
The chicken nugget meal is also an awesome value and delicious! The nugg sauce they make is like crack.
As the name implies; ..& Spirits – New state has a phenomenal cocktail program and you seriously won’t be disappointed no matter what you choose. From their delicious craft beer on tap to their best-in-class Old Fashioned, they make it all and they make it well!

You must get the Brussel Sprouts and the Fried Banana Peppers. Great burgers and very good service. Their ice tea is really good, too. Nice place to get out of the heat.
