The mutton dum biryani here is excellent! It is very well cooked, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with spices. It’s one of our regular favorites and we keep coming back for it. We also tried the haleem and it was very delicious and rich in taste. The food always feels fresh and carefully prepared, and you can really tell they put effort into making quality dishes. The sweet kheer and double ka meetha were also very nice and tasted amazing. Definitely one of the best places for biryani and haleem

Visited the buffet for Sunday lunch recently after the World Cup cricket match , and as expected there was a huge rush. We arrived around 2:00 PM, and the staff mentioned the wait time would be about 15–20 minutes. However, due to the heavy crowd, we were finally seated closer to 3:00 PM, which felt quite long ⏳.
The buffet layout had separate sections for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes . However, in another section both veg and non-veg items were placed close together. Because of the crowd and multiple people serving at the same time, the serving area became quite messy. At times, non-veg gravies were spilling and mixing near veg dishes, which could be concerning for strict vegetarians. Additionally, the steel katoris and serving spoons didn’t always look properly cleaned, and the overall seating and dining area felt a bit disorganized during peak rush hours.
That said, the food itself was genuinely good . Most dishes tasted fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, which shows the kitchen team is doing a great job. One helpful feature is that they post their weekend buffet menu on Instagram , making it easy for guests to check the menu and plan their visit in advance.

Tried Sitara Indian Restaurant and this is easily one of the best Indian buffets in Austin.
The live dosa stand, the variety of biryanis was impressive, each with distinct flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The chaat and pani puri were great, and the dessert spread (rasgulla, rasmalai, double ka meetha, burfi) was outstanding.
Clean, well run, and great value. Definitely coming back.

Words can’t explain how good this food is, everything about this place I loved, from the staff to the atmosphere, to the speed of service to the taste and authenticity of the food…I was genuinely blown away. I was originally kind of scared of going because of the prices but talked myself into going… anyways and I’m so glad I did because it is worth the money…..The portion sizes they give are absolutely massive and the taste of the food makes it so worth the price I highly recommend the butter chicken and the mutton keema biryani, I also got some flatbread that I can’t remember the name of but it was stuffed with onions and the lovely waitress recommended some dipping sauce for it and it was delicious!!! I would definitely be coming back!! ❤️❤️

New Sitara is easily the best Indian and Southeast Asian restaurant within 200 miles of Austin. The Mutton Dum Biryani is rich and perfectly cooked, the lamb chops are tender and flavorful, the Tava Fish is spot-on, and the Paya Soup is incredibly comforting.
The staff is friendly and attentive, they go out of their way to make every visit exceptional. If you want top-tier flavors and great hospitality, New Sitara is a must.

I’ve tried almost every other Indian restaurant, but this one truly stands out and has become my new favorite Sitara restaurant ! The food is exceptional, and the service is top-notch. They even gave us two complimentary Indian sweets, which were amazing. I highly recommend this place the fry piece pulao is outstanding, and the tawa fish and Chicken Majestic are the best appetizers!❤️

Visited today for the buffet with excellent variety, fresh naan, and flavorful curries. Everything tasted authentic and well seasoned. Friendly staff and service made it a great experience. Worth it for lunch or dinner today.

I had a buffet today at Sitara and it was absolutely worth the money. The food was delicious and the number of items on the buffet was truly surprising. The desserts in particular brought so much joy. I have never seen so many varieties in any buffet before. It is one of the best buffet experiences I have ever had. I am already eager to visit again soon. Their service was also exceptional.
