We had an excellent experience at this Chinese halal restaurant! We ordered the dinner special combo for $50 and it was totally worth it. The combo includes four crispy egg rolls, comforting wonton soup, BBQ chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, sweet & sour chicken plus one entree of your choice (we picked the walnut shrimp and it was incredible – crispy, creamy, and just the right touch of sweetness). Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Portions are generous – definitely enough to feed 3-4 people easily. The service was top-notch; staff were friendly, attentive, and quick. The restaurant itself is super clean and has a calm, welcoming vibe. Great food, great value, and great service. Highly recommend if you’re looking for delicious halal Chinese food

So I Visited the new New Shanghai Halal Chinese Restaurant, and it’s a fantastic addition to the town! The food was absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The sweet and sour chicken and stir-fried noodles were standout dishes. They also offer amazing family meal options for just $50, which include a soup, an entrée, and two main dishes. The quantity of food served was very generous, perfect for sharing. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive—and the prices are unbeatable for the quality and portions. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious, affordable, and family-friendly halal Chinese meal. Will definitely be coming back!”

2nd all those negative reviews must be fake or they don’t get seated or taste the food.
So no more need to go bay area for authentic Chinese halal food in Sacramento.
And the portions are big .
Service is very professional we got served by (AVY) sorry if I forgot the name but the whole experience is very very good .
Will be back after Ramadan انشاء اللہ.

Everything tasted good. There are no spice levels so I had to ask. Orange chicken and sweet and sour is more on the sweet side. Mongolian beef was spicy and really good. The place looked really nice from inside as well. Glad to finally have a halal Chinese place in Sacramento. Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

My mother and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight 12/10/25. The food is delicious. It can be a little pricey but you get a LOT for your money. Who doesn’t like leftovers? We were so hungry I forgot to take a photo but the atmosphere is welcoming and beautiful. Besides all that, our Host/Waiter, Adrian. He is Phenomenal. He provided amazing service. He is very friendly, attentive to us to make sure everything was good, and always had a smile. Thank you Adrian for your amazing customer service. My mother and I will definitely be back. I don’t usually go places that have under 4.5 stars but I’m so happy we came here. We enjoyed everything we ordered. They have quite a few fun menu items like Philly cheese egg rolls and Chinese churros that I plan to try next time. The waiter was friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. The place isn’t big and fancy but the food is great.

the food here is amazing, we always love coming for that! unfortunately, our experience was a bit spoiled by one of the waiters. we were seated at a small table that didn’t fit our group, and when we moved to a bigger table, the waiter was rude and had an attitude. it felt unnecessary and made ordering a bit stressful. the staff inside seemed busy, which we understand, but basic courtesy would have gone a long way. food is still top-notch, but service could use improvement.

First time visiting New Shanghai. We ordered the $50 family set which included chicken chow mein, wonton soup, Mongolian beef (other options to pick from other than this), 4 egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, bbq chicken fried rice. Portions were great and it was a nice variety of foods to try. Food was prompt and took 5-10mins from ordering. We were able to get a high chair and service came with complementary water bottles and fortune cookies.

Ok look. I haaaate leaving bad reviews however I feel that this restaurant could be so much better. My main gripe is with your orange chicken. WHERE IS THE CHICKEN IN THE ORANGE CHICKEN? It’s literally 1 tiny bite sized piece of chicken surrounded by a ton of batter! The flavor is decent but geez, can y’all put some chicken in this dish?????
