New Seoul Plaza is a family-run business that opened in late August of 2018. It is comprised of three different Korean eateries: Jinji Korean Cuisine & Soju Bar, Daebak Korean BBQ and Myomee Cafe. Voted Best Korean Restaurant in 2019 by Detroit Hour Magazine and Detroit Metro Times.

We went with a group and loved the private room that could probably hold 20 people. It was nice to have an activity of cooking the meat while we ate. The marinated chicken and short rib were the best. The spicy pork was great if you like spicy. The pork belly was our least favorite. If we returned, we would skip that option. The complimentary sides were just okay – they could be improved imo with seaweed and cucumber salad. Do not leave without getting the Korean chicken wings. They were amazing. Our server Z was very attentive and friendly.

I tried Mayomee next door and the strawberry shortcake & fruity pebbles Bangsu was scrumptious! The portion is big enough for four people. The shop was also cute and they have Korean snacks too. I have yet to try Daebak KBBQ next door, which will be on my list to try.

A culinary experience like no other. Excellent decor matched by a hugely efficient service, genuine Korean beverages and a real interactive DIY BBQ main that got the whole table involved. A great way to break the ice with colleagues or to try something a little bit different. The service was incredibly fast and efficient, plus there is the added bonus of a small convenience store that only sells Korean produce.

This place is a Korean dream. We tried Jinji Korean Cuisine which was amazing and out of the world experience especially their hot pot which hit my spicy spot really well. We did try bakery which also serves shaved ice with flavors. There’s a Korean grill as well. I would definitely come back here to try more.

We attended a Lunar New Year celebration and unveiling of their new sculpture by Mike Han. The event was well attended and the atmosphere was very friendly and joyful. The owners of New Seoul Plaza spoke during the event and their community spirit and kindness was evident. There were several other local dignitaries present including the Mayor of Southfield.
And…. the food was amazing. I look forward to bringing my family back for dinner.

It is a shopping plaza (thus the name) that has 3 separate businesses within: Daebak Korean BBQ restaurant, KPop Nara, and Myomee, a coffee & dessert cafe.
Daebak – the restaurant – and KPop Nara can only be gotten to by the main entrance to New Seoul Plaza while Myomee has an outside entrance in addition to the main.
