We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here on our recent trip to Madison. As someone who isn’t very well-versed in Korean cuisine, I spent some time googling images of the dishes before ordering. It might be helpful to know that you won’t find any photos in the menu, or much guidance from the wait staff in placing your order. In my case, I viewed that as a sign of authenticity, so it wasn’t a deterrent. The food was hot, flavorful and it arrived promptly. It was spicy, but not too much to tolerate. The dumplings may be the best I’ve ever had. The ambience was somewhat neutral and the location of the store iteself has a strip mall vibe, but I usually seek out places that offer authenticity over frills, and New Seoul did not dissapoint!

Just 2 appetizer?
Food was ok!
I was the only customer and still, I have to stand up to get my own to go box and pay by bill to the front desk

Love the food, the place has a chill atmosphere, nice staff, and everything was perfect. This place is quite the hidden gem. This is my first time here and I was pleasantly pleased by everything. Very cozy. Authentic Korean cuisine. Love it all. Thank you for giving me the most awesome first time here.

The gimbap was absolutely fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly rolled. However, the dakbokkeumt we ordered was disappointing. It tasted more Japanese than Korean, with a lot more cabbage than chicken, which threw off the balance of the dish.
The galbitang (beef short rib soup) was decent — the broth was satisfying, but the meat was a bit tough and could have been more tender.
Unfortunately, the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was the biggest letdown. The batter was not crispy at all, and it would have been better if they served the sauce on the side or gave an option to pour it ourselves.
This place has potential, especially with dishes like the gimbap, but there’s definitely room for improvement in authenticity and execution for the rest of the menu.

I came into here, because, after watching the show Squid Game, I had a fascination for Korean food and Culture. The restaurant is not incredibly fancy, but as far as restaurants in this area it is my favorite.
The service, I would say, is genuine. They have their own life and they don’t pry into yours. The owner treats those with respect who respect his restaurant, as far as I can tell. Sometimes they are friendly, sometimes they are private.
As far as food goes, I very much enjoyed some of my selections.
I tried the Kimbap first, and it was delicious. Can’t say I had much conscious thought about why it was.
I had a chicken fried rice next. I was not impressed by the quality of the chicken. I believe some of the menu items are hit or miss. This could have to do with the time of week and rotation of produce and meat.
Other than that fried rice, the other entree I’ve ordered here has been very delicious, fresh, albeit the sauce was sweet (I’m not complaining too much about this one as a typical American). I think I had some kind of fried chicken with veg and a sauce over it, which was very enjoyable.
If you’re in this area and try this restaurant, I’d recommend the Kimbap.

Portion size not impressive but enough for one person. Food was really good though! We did medium spicy and it was just right! We had one of the lunch specials Chicken Bokum. With tax about $11. We did takeout, but they do have a small dining room. We would definitely order this again and we will be back.
It is a small restaurant right next to the Alicia Ashman Library on North Highpoint Road. If you didn’t know it was there, you would miss it!

Almost don’t want to tell you about this plase so I can keep it for myself! Excellent food. Spice/sauce served on the side so you can adjust the heat to your liking. Atmosphere is basic but did I say the food is excellent? Come here for the food.

It was a cold and snowy evening. I found this place on Yelp and came by for dinner after a long work day. It was quiet on a Tuesday evening. There were only 2 other customers at the time. I ordered bibimbap in a stone bowl. The food was good and authentic. There were 2 side dishes, also decent. They didn’t charge me for the green tea

I finally remembered to take a picture of my food before digging in! (patting myself on the back) This food is spectacular, do yourself a favor and try it. They’re very nice there and I honestly can’t wait to go back and try something new (new to me). Picture is bopchaebop (beef or veggie) clear sweet potato noodles, beef, cabbage, carrot, onion, green onion, mushroom, red cabbage.
