We found this place when living nearby in roxborough and since moving to south philly 2 years ago, we have not been able to find a place as good as new ruby! So much so that we order from them once a year on Christmas. No one else lives up to them! They are super accommodating and friendly. Portions are huge. We get 2-3 meals from our order. And it’s DELICIOUS. Give them all your money!

I would give zero if it could. Horrible service from start to finish. I got attitude on the phone for paying with a card, then was completely ignored in person after ordering 20 minutes in advance. No eye contact, no explanation, just rude behavior and being brushed off.
The food wasn’t worth it either — the chicken was extremely chewy and didn’t even seem like real chicken. (Also asked for extra sauce after receiving two packets and she said I have to pay extra $1 EXCUSE ME WHAT!?!?!?) For service this bad, the food should at least be decent. It wasn’t.
If you don’t care about customers or quality, don’t be surprised when people don’t come back.

This place is always great! We order delivery from an address that isn’t within their normal delivery area and they go the extra mile (literally) to bring it to us. I discovered this place a few years ago when I first moved back to the city, and decided to place a take out order on a whim. Despite not ordering delivery super often, they remember us! We have never had a single incorrect order or issue with them, and the food is super consistent.

My food was not hot. It did not seem prepared in the moment. I was disappointed. I should have returned it. The sauce for the General Tso chicken had a yellowish color (tumeric?) and only two pieces of broccoli. [Lunch special] Maybe an off day. Not sure if I will return any time soon.

We’ve loved Ruby Chinese Restaurant since we first had it years ago! We moved further away and still can’t find a Chinese place as good as them. Even though we moved away from the area, we still manage to have Ruby’s every year as a little Christmas treat!

Today I was very disappointed with the service I received from This Ruby Chinese restaurant where I have ordered food several times. I went to pick up my food, paid for it and notice they gave me no duck sauce, not the first time. . I asked for duck sauce, the owner gave me 3. I asked for extra duck sauce because I like duck sausage with my food and 3 was not enough. She told me NO, and stated that if I want extra duck sauce I have to pay 50 cents for one. I told her I was not paying for duck sauce. She offered me soy sauce. I told her I don’t want soy sauce I want duck sauce. Can I have 4 more duck sauce please, she said no, you have to pay for extra. She said, “everybody wants extra duck sauce. We are a small business and cannot give everybody extra duck sauce”. She said, if you go to McDonald they only give you 2 duck sauce. I told her, I don’t eat McDonald and don’t care about anywhere else. I paid for my food and would like more duck sauce. She said, I can only give you 2 more not 4. If I did not already swiped my card I would have just walked away and leave the food. I took the 2 extra duck sauce and walked away. She had the nerve to say “thanks for understanding. Instead of telling her what I really wanted to say. I kept my composure knowing that this place I bought so much food from will never get another penny from me. What’s the deal with the duck sauce anyway. Is there some kind of mystery behind it why they are so stingy with it? The experience made me not enjoy the food.
