Very effective and friendly service.
Just overall what is needed for a quick and easy breakfast.
Haven’t been here in a long while and was strolling through the neighborhood while waiting for something early. They open at 5 am. No one opens this early anymore, and it’s good to see for a lot of early risers and construction workers. Simply, you can not go wrong with the prices. Higher but still a little old school. Nice lady in the back servicing and cooking with help. The breakfast special caught my eye. Two eggs, two scoop rice, one spam, 3 bacon, and two Portuguese sausages for $8.39. Thank God this kind of place still exists. It’s not gourmet but certainly fills the stomach and the local soul. The lunch menu looks good, too, where you can still find shortribs for under $14. Nice to see, and a gotta try. ✌️
The lunch crowd is a mix of office professionals, tradesmen and sometimes sketchy homeless looking guys – but my friend left her purse on the table one time and it was returned with everything – including cash – intact.
There are few tables so plan for carryout unless you get there early.
Opens early (like 5am), lots of food, good prices and is a mom and pop shop.
Breakfast combo, see Pic, is two link sausages, two portagese sausage, two to three pieces of bacon, 1 spam, 2 eggs (any way you like it) over rice. For like $8 plus tax. For years, they kept the price fair with low over head. Other places would have made this $20 by now. Lol
The other items like mix and bbq mix plate is good too. They are flexible, if you want to change the two items, you can. They are poplar among locals and conveniently cheap for kakaako…one of OGs still here…by only open till slightly after lunch
Service is as you expect. Nothing special, go their enough, she knows your order…haha
Atmosphere is okay, you are NOT there to sit for 2 hrs and enjoy. You eat, and you leave, or take it to go. Some would say it’s very mom and pop like. Whatever the case, it’s worth going to a local drive-in that doesn’t inflate prices or ask you for an additional 3% for all credit card payment.
Parking is all on the street. Hard to get, luckily I just walk over. Some are free, most are metered parking stalls.
