Reviews
Vietnamese restaurants in Ottawa often have a self-order system whereby the customer is handed a piece of paper and a pen to order their food items. The menu is numbered and the process is straightforward.
Our experience this past week at New Pho Bo Ga La was a positive one with our delicious orders of Vermicelli noodles on grilled shrimp and veggies. The fish sauce (maybe?) that goes with the dish is excellent and reduces the dryness of the noodles while providing a flavorful taste. The shrimps were grilled well with ample flavour. Overall, we had a good time and will return soon!
Have the seafood spicy special (S11). it was so flavorful lots of spice and lemongrass flavor. My dining partner had the regular pho which was less flavorable by comparison.
The large bowl is enormous. So come hungry orbev prepared to take leftovers home.
*update*
I called and let the restaurant know of the situation. They offered to credit me next time I’m in but at this point there won’t be a next time. This isn’t the first time they’ve burned my food while I sat inside the restaurant but they did remake my food. I was hoping to give them another try but boy was I wrong to. Bottom line is, (and the pictures speak for itself) this isn’t worth $22. Insane Ottawa prices compared to Toronto.
