This small mom and pops sushi spot is truly a gem! Me and my husband found this sushi restaurant driving by on Valentine’s Day and decided to give it a try. We were definitely not disappointed and loved everything. Our chef was Justin and he is truly an amazing chef I wish I could give him 10 stars because he knew exactly what he was doing I kept asking for chefs choice and everything he brought us was so delicious. We will now be regulars

Good quality sushi at a decent price. Their menu selection is good too. You only get one hour for the all you can eat option, which IMO is not enough time, especially if place is crowded and the way service is. The sushi chefs are friendly, but when you order, it takes a while to get your food. They walk away or start talking to each other, our chef even started preparing food for other guest and we had ordered first. Overall okay experience, if they improve their service, this place would really be a great spot IMO. Parking available right next door to the business.

Food was always great but it’s weird they closed down and didn’t let long time customers know or have a sign up etc. It was open and then a few days later closed without word. Pretty sad! Been going here since I was a kid and felt like I knew the staff so it’s very sad!

I have not been to this restaurant for a while since I had moved away but am here visiting family all the time and always go on to read reviews to see if places are still worth going to…
The reviews state mostky that the staff are not kind and that they are dismissive as well as the chef begrudgingly preparing their sushi orders and vibing them out before they are ready..
Too bad and sad to see this…
What is REALLY telling about whether a restaurant cares or not is when the manager/owner actually replies to a reasonable negative experience.
I saw zero replies on here from management addressing patrons valid complaints as they’ve posted their bad experiences on here. That alone tells me don’t bother going to this place.

Best sushi in LA hands down. Brian and Justin are the top tier sushi chefs in all of California. Freshest sushi in Los Angeles, unless you catch it, clean it, and make it yourself. Great service, great conversation, and all around great bang for the buck. I make it a point to come here every time I come back to LA.

1 of the guys preparing our, all you can eat was amazing. The older lady needs to take a vacation or get it together because she was rather rude. Would not supply a full receipt. The images are of tiny versions of sushi items.

Ten times better than my last visit, one of the few Sushi places serving AYCE…worth it..
Update: haven’t had roe or uni in my last two visits, not a deal breaker for me…
Update: June 2024; It’s taken a drastic nose dive again. Lousy and not worth the money…

I love Sushi!
That being said, love is not the affection I have for New Light & Healthy Sushi.
The aesthetics of the food was on point. The dissatisfaction came with the quality.
The clams were chewy and sandy.
The fresh water eel roll has a sauce that tastes like maple syrup. Much sweeter than the traditional savory/sweet sauce used on eel rolls.
The Spider roll has soft shell crab which upon my first bite had a very sour shellfish flavor.
The Fried Rice roll with spicy tuna and avocado was delicious. Though “avocado” was an accent color more than anything.
The Sake in a baby blue bottle is definitely a good thing.
The service was very friendly and cleanliness is a 7/10.
So, after 1 regular roll, 2 specialty rolls, 1 appetizer, a large Asahi beer, and Sake the cost was less than $60.
I would suggest you keep your expectations on the idle and still give this place a try. Just stay away from muscles and soft shell crab.
Enjoy!

I have been coming here for years, this is hands down the best sushi place within 50 miles.
Justin and Brian are so incredibly excited to serve you the freshest and finest sushi in town. They are artists.
Don’t listen to any other bad reviews, this place is legit
