This is such a great find in the neighborhood. We came to the area for a show and wanted a good warm meal on a cold wintry day. This totally hit the spot. You couldn’t tell by the interiors (a bit dated for sure) but the food and service was so warm! We had the butter chicken and the lamb curry (with a garlic naan). The meats were tender. The sauces were delicious! And that naan…oh man, gonna be dreaming about that naan! A gem in the neighborhood!!!

There are many restaurants that look appealing and stylish when you walk in, but the food is overpriced and mediocre. And then there are those restaurants that look like they they’re not even trying to be attractive. No. Ambiance, harsh lighting, and no style, but the food is worth not only every penny you spend on it but even more because you think how can this food be so good and not cost more.
Do not let the innards of new Indian sizzler put you off. It is not pretty. It is not romantic. It looks like it may not even be operational. Just plough through because the food is excellent. Fresh, well seasoned, authentic, damn good.
They do a cracking takeout business and I have no idea why no one was there besides the two of us on a Friday night, but it was damn fine food and I highly recommend it!
If you want to have this excellent food and also a wonderful atmosphere, just take it to go.

Awesome Indian food around the corner! This is a hidden gem located north of Chinatown. It’s so convenient to get such amazing food at such an affordable price. We really enjoyed the Manchurian cauliflower, tandoori mix platter!! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Will strongly recommend anyone with a craving for Indian food and don’t want to break their bank doing it!

We were in the neighborhood from out of town for an art gallery event around the corner. Found street parking right out front. It was empty, but the ratings were high and we were in the mood for warm Indian food. Service was friendly and fast. The food was Excellent! the Naan fresh, crispy and light. The butter chicken was mildly spicy with lots of chicken and very flavorful. I was able to eat the leftovers for dinner! My husband got the lamb curry, and it was also delicious! If you live in the area, I would highly recommend it. Apparently this is their second restaurant, the other is near the UPenn campus!

The Indian Sizzler on Spring Garden is exactly what the neighbourhood needed. It has everything you’d expect from a great Indian spot and then some.
The Biryani is the real deal—authentic and perfectly spiced—and the flaky paratha rolls (think the best burritos ever) are a must-try. We also loved the samosas and finished with a wonderful masala chai. They have some excellent lunch specials that are a total steal.
The dining room is oddly spartan, but makes sense as they do a ton of takeout. The staff are so incredibly accommodating and kind that you quickly forget about the minimalist decor. A 10/10 experience!

Supreme indian food!!! The gravy sauces, the naan breads, the flavors, were all just high quality goodness. We ordered Malai Kofta, chicken tikka masala, and tandoori chicken with garlic naan and kalubi naan. Absolutely delicious! Restaurant was clean and service was great!

So let me start off by saying that I love Indian food and have been frequenting Indian restaurants since living in New York. I have to save this place is pretty damn good. I had the chicken saag And it was amazing And season to perfection The garlic naan was really really tasty and soft and gulab jamun Was a sweet, finishing touch my biggest disappointment with this place was with the butter Chicken as I am a huge fan and possibly one of my favorite things to order when going out to eat Indian. The butter chicken was really salty, didn’t have enough of a kick to it,And lacked that sweetness that you get from a traditional butter chicken. Who knows maybe it was an off day for the butter chicken but I will be back to try it again As everything else We ordered with spectacular

I have never written a review in my life but!!! I love Indian Sizzler SO MUCH (my friends and family can attest to this). I miss when it was in ucity but I just followed them to this location. It is my comfort food before every med school final exam… I might have to invite them to my graduation. Everything I’ve had is so good and the prices are great, I always get several meals out of one order. I could drink their mint chutney it is so good and they let me get extra whenever Ive asked! :’) <3
