My partner loves to shoot pool, so we try to go out for that at least once a week. As his girlfriend, I might be nice and all, but walking a table is unquestionably his happy place.
There are five or so bars near us, only three of which have tables worth shooting on, but New Image has become our favorite.
Sure, it’s a dive bar, but that’s part of why we like it. The place is clean, the clientele is generally friendly, the drinks are both cheap and good, and the pool tables are $1 a game. What’s not to like?
The staff are all good people. I’ve had a crippling headache 24/7 for over 20 years, so I didn’t go out too much as loud noises make the pain flare up. When my partner and I are in the back shooting pool, they turn down the speaker so that I can enjoy being there without bothering the other people.
For the sports inclined, there are several TVs that are always playing whatever local sports team is playing. And there’s generally cheering going on with that.
For the food inclined, while New Image doesn’t have a kitchen, it does have Kismet in the parking lot, and they do allow in outside food. (There are several picnic tables out back if you prefer that.) If you haven’t had Kismet and like fried food, make it a two-fer. Get supper over there and bring it on it to watch the game or shoot the breeze.

Wish I could give zero stars. Have lived near the bar for 4 years and finally decided to try it out. The lady working checked my ID and said it doesn’t look like me. I tried to prove it to her but she said she won’t serve me. I then went right across the street to the Allstars sports bar and got right in! Very friendly across the street. The woman working at the lounge was very rude. I would not suggest this bar to anyone… go across the street you will have a much better time!!!!

Local bar atmosphere and I love it. Been here many times. If you don’t like sports, stay away on game night. Unless you do, then it’s packed.
