Been ordering here for years food is good but I always go pick it up. They do get busy sometimes and the phone doesn’t ring because it’s busy but this is the only Chinese place I order from food is good fresh fair price. My favorite is the chicken wings and shrimp roll.

I call and whoever picked up customer service was terrible.They had me wait 45 mins-50 mins for my food. My shrimp egg roll was cold. Too much grease in the food, portion of chicken you get paying 16$ is even worse. Only thing that was great was the homemade ice tea.

When I tell you the food was fresh and hot. I ordered chicken and broccoli with light sauce and crispy broccoli. The food was perfect. The Chinese places in East Orange are horrific. This place is 20 minutes from me but was worth the trip and money. Food was hot. I am impressed with that because most things you order are not really hot and fresh. Broccoli was vibrant green crisp and had a snap to it. The person at the counter listened and also accommodated what I wanted. Egg roll.was full, golden brown and every thing had flavor, a missing component in most fast food these days. I hope they continue to serve top notch food and service as this may be my go to place.

Really Good food and also a good variety of food selection. Reasonable prices there is sometimes a wait, but it is worth it. Call in your order for pick up you will typically get faster service. I miss NY style chinese food this reminds me of home I’m in VA now and haven’t found the same quality so I treat myself to it when I visit NJ. My favorite items are sweet and sour chicken with beef and chicken fried rice, egg rolls , spring rolls , chicken wings, home made iced tea, homemade lemonade, general Tso, chicken and broccoli, fried scallops, chicken noodle soup, steamed chicken with broccoli or mixed vegetables. They also have specialty items. They have really good garlic sauce you can order on the side perfect on meat and you can drizzle over veggies and rice.

It’s a good restaurant but the one problem is that they took so long to serve me what I was ordering and some of the menu aren’t propose so that could what they can find there.

The food was delicious and well seasoned. You don’t need the sauce. Fresh fried rice. The fried chicken was juicy. I would definitely visit again.

Love coming here! Parking is damned near impossible though, so if you’re driving to this location, I suggest calling in your order to make your pick-up experience a little smoother. Adding further to the parking issue, there are active bus stops on both immediate sides of the restaurant. Food here is cooked to my liking without any additional instruction to the cooks, the employees are very pleasant, and concise with me about my orders. I have definitely recommended this spot to my friends, and we continue to come here to this day.

Updated Review: The food is still good. However, the delivery sucks. I waited for 2 hours to get $30.00 worth of food; ordered at 2:44 pm. Called back to the restaurant twice. First, I was told that the driver was on the way at 4:01 pm. The next call to the restaurant at 4:48 pm, I’m told the driver had the wrong number.
I try calling the driver. He tells me that he called, “No one answered and hung up, No one reply message.” Needless to say New Hong Kong Restaurant will NEVER get my money again.
