Walk away. Delivery time : 35 mins. After 75 mins asked when order will arrive. Told me “we’re very busy”. Can you estimate when please? “Don’t know it’s in the kitchen.”
A rough idea? “About 20 mins”. 35 mins later it arrived. 1hr 20mins.
The Kung Po Chicken was chicken and pineapple. Salt n pepper king prawns were in batter, there were only six in the box..(photo shows the amount of soggy dough). Chips must have been refried several times and the fried rice was boiled mush.
I prefer to put up good reviews but when phoning to point out the order was wrong I was told Kung Po Chicken has pineapple in it.
£27 wasted, sorry there’s nothing good to say about the New Hong Kong

Terrible service and food rubbish. Ordered delivery 6.45pm . Told 30 mins. Phoned at 7.55pm to ask where our meal was and a very unpleasant and unhelpful man told us it was in the kitchen !! Very busy night so don’t know when it will ready. He said maybe 20 mins but don’t know. Arrived at 8.30pm. My meal was supposed to be Kung Po chicken. Was chicken and pineapple! Called them and same horrible man told me it was Kung Po. I said it has no chillies or veg. He says “we don’t use chillies in our meals ” ???? I said I had this meal before and it was definately with chillies and peppercorns and NOT pineapple. The chicken was chewy and thin and sauce horrid. Chips were overcooked about 3 times as well. My partners salt and pepper prawns with fried rice. Was boiled rice and only 6 prawns covered in a very thick stodge supposed to be batter ! Threw it all out eventually. Worse takeaway we have EVER had. Do not use this place as it is awful for their food and service. I don’t usually put reviews online but I am so disgusted with this meal I had to warn others.

I always go to this Chinese takeaway, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh, full of flavour, and always cooked perfectly. The portions are generous, and everything tastes like it’s made with care. everything I’ve tried has been great.
The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and my order is always ready on time. It’s definitely my go-to place for Chinese food — I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a tasty and reliable local takeaway.

Have been ordering from rhe Hong Kong in Montrose since we moved her 20 years ago.
I placed a phone order at 18.22. I ordered our meals for about 7 30pm. Was told by Taylor that he would put it through for, and I quote, “7.20, because I’m sick of it being late.” I phoned just before 8pm, checking on our order. I hadn’t even got the sentence out when I was told that it was on the way. I said well that’s an hour and 40 minutes since I placed my order but thank you for the update. I was then hung up on! What terrible customer service! We will NOT be ordering from here again and that is a shame as we always enjoy our food from here. (Prawn crackers tonight were chewy and not crunchy though.) We know that there were out of town deliveries tonight, not our fault or the driver’s fault but at least be honest with your customers. With our takeaway costing £30 for TWO meals plus prawn crackers, which is not cheap, we apologised to the delivery driver for not leaving a tip, whcih we usual do.
P. S If you are sick of orders being late, then only take a minimum of orders that you can deliver, or at the very least, be honest with your customers.
Very poor customer service.

Absolutely appalling service, ordered chicken curry with boiled rice, rice was missing, was told come and collect it or wait 45 mins, no apology or refund offered. This will be the last order l place, as food isn’t as good as it used to be and deliveries can be ridiculously late. Cannot recommend this place to anyone which is a real shame as used to be the best takeaway in town.

Top Tier Chinese Takeaway!
Hands down one of the best takeaways I’ve had in ages. The food was hot, fresh, and absolutely packed with flavour. I got the salt and pepper chicken, chow mein, and spring rolls everything was spot on.
Portions were generous, prices were decent, and it arrived quicker than expected. You can tell they actually care about what they’re cooking, not just throwing it together.
If you’re after a proper good Chinese night in, this is the one. Will definitely be ordering again soon!

Pop in once a week for the chicken curry and rice spring rolls, they are always cooked fresh and are so crispy and piping hot, they are huge and very filling. Haven’t tried anything else yet but will be trying one of the salt & pepper boxes next, no complaints here & the young man on the counter is always really smiley and welcoming, great front of house.

Friendly service from Taylor when I Dropped by MO Fest weekend for a Chicken Curry Fried Rice Springroll. Absolut amazing flavour, good ratio of Chicken & Rice neatly rolled & cooked to perfection. Highly recommended using the New Hong Kong.
