This location offers an amazing specials menu currently with banana foster oancaoe tacos that will help you re-thimk what kind of possibilities breakfast can have!
There was a pulled bbq pork on a waffle which was amazing as well with eggs bennedict and hollandaise sauce!
Blueberry muffin pancake was ordered in our group and also got a high review from my friend.
There is a cozy atmosphere that still feels the same as the first time i went to this diner almost 15 years ago.
Quality menu with great service. Will defintely be back
This is an average diner experience at best. Nothing fancy, probably the local community “safe choice”. At 10:30am the diner was about 2/3 full so this has to be the locals favorite hang out…as the food does not really warrant the drive to get here.
Italian omelette was served hot but tasteless. Home fries reminded me of Town and Country diner in Bloomfield. Almost identical. Not sure what reviewer (Hugo Ayala) means by quality of food..but this is average food that is priced at the high end of breakfast
Coffee tasted burnt so I’m confused why a previous review (Stephan Togher) would take it to go.
Bud Buckner’s review of “Not fancy” is correct but this does not rate where he has it.
The Diner is at the end of a strip mall currently for sale as it lost a grocery store.
The best part was the 3 waitresses that I met. All 3 very friendly to a new customer (thank you ) and they are the true stars of the diner.
But this has to be the best of what the local residents have who don’t drive to explore other opportunities in Avon, Simsbury, Granby, Southwick MA and the local residents give it 5 stars
My honest review is if you are already in the area or passing through on business…it’s an OK safe place to visit.
It’s not however the place to drive 18-20 miles from my house to eat at as there are other options for me at s lower price point with better tasting food.
Outdoor dining is available and plentiful if you wish to eat outside

This diner has been open for more than a few years, first just as a breakfast place only open in the morning, then later adding lunch and expanding seating outdoors and a few extra hours into the afternoon. Eating here the first time this weekend, it was shocking to see how packed the restaurant was with customers! A larger room than expected, every booth and table was full. We had to wait for a place to be cleared and cleaned before we could be seated. Most people were eating breakfast – a lot of eggs and pancakes or waffles.
My partner and I came in at eleven but chose to switch to lunch looking at their afternoon specials. Soup or salad comes with lunch, so we tried one of each of the two soups offered, chicken with rice and New England clam chowder. Our waitress brought us two big bowls and oyster cracker packets. Both were good and nicely prepared, but I preferred the chicken with rice. Nice tender squares of chicken, carrots and the right amount of white rice in a well-seasoned chicken broth. The chowder had a good amount of clams and potato.
They have no appetizers on the menu, so we decided to share an order of curly fries while we waited for our main dishes. Really good. Crispy, curly and correctly salted.
The Short Rib special with mashed potato was flavorful, but as someone who cooks these really well, the rib could have been even more tender and the creamy sauce was different. The Chicken Marsala special I ordered to see how a diner would cook this dish in comparison to a restaurant. It had a small boneless chicken breast with the spinach side as more of a garnish, and a good scoop of mashed potatoes that I added salt and pepper to, but the Marsala sauce the Chef got just right.
Everything was good here, but I prefer the place up the road a bit in Barkhamsted I’ve reviewed on GM several times where everything is very good.
As for this diner: service is very friendly; casual interior with tables and booths; loud due to the volume of customers of every age; no alcohol beverages. The price of the two meals with coffee and fries was around $30. each with tax and tip. We brought half of our lunches home. Open seven days a week 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Kielbasa was good too.
Coffee was better than the average diner. I would order it to go.
Can’t wait to go back. Staff were awesome. Friendly, anticipated the next request and kept the coffee flowing without being overbearing!
Awesome job all.
